The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
This thing is took longer to install then the rest of the rack. Some of the steps could have been done during manufacturing so it's not clear why they dumped it on the consumer. It did cut down wind noise though. It does allow you to use the fairing with a Thule cargo box which the Yakima does not.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Thule directions are weak. pictures confusing...on all products...like IKEA!? Although it is definately the size the manufacturer rec's for my car...it looks small. the plastic ends make it look cheap. it does work to cut down on noise.
tricky to install but effective. dont think a smallish woman could install w/o help...

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Great add on to your Thule rack. And like the header says, it's not just for the looks and stickers! It actually serves a purpose. Purchased the base rack for my 2011 Hyundai Elantra and the afternoon I received it I ran out of time while installing the whole thing. At 35-40 MPH my rack sounded like it was making a small tornado on my roof... uh oh! Came home that night and put on my fairing... PROBLEM SOLVED 100%. Had no idea anything was even on my roof! May be just a tad bit shorter than I would like but the next size up would probably be too long... not a biggy at all. Still looks and works great.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
After installing the roof racks, there was a loud noise from wind. After applying this device, the noise was eliminated. Gas mileage was also improved.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
The fairing does precisely what it is supposed to do: it greatly reduces the wind noise from the roof rack.
Service and delivery comments:
REI was great. Store staff were very helpful, but sold me the wrong size. On return, staff were very accomodating - as they always are - and exchanged for the correct size. REI customer service is excellent.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Absolutely perfect. Easy construction, took me 30 minutes to build and install. The Plexiglas is elastic enough to permit a slight bend in the middle allowing a universal fit across a wide range of makes and models, and as far as the Volkswagen GTI MKV is concerned it is absolutely lovely. More importantly this device really does eliminate the howling roar of the front load bar.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
Installed the 38" fairing on my Thule Traverse footpack with square load bars on my Honda Civic - made an INCREDIBLE difference. Before I had the fairing, any speed over 40 mph caused loud whirling/whistling sounds on the roof. Once I installed the fairing, I seriously could barely tell anything was even up on my roof! Well worth the price - any reviews that say this doesn't work are written by people who either did not install the fairing properly (which I could totally believe) or bought the wrong size. If you have a Thule roof rack, get the fairing.

Comments about Thule Fairing:
I have removed the fairing once, even though I was doing it carefully, a few of my clips broke. Two of my four plastic clips which wrap around my cross bars snapped, along with 2 of my fairing arm which attach to the cross bar clip. The plastic has little give... I have owned the fairing from about march 2010-present and when i went to remove the fairing for the this winter of 2011, those clips snapped. It's disappointing that Thule would resort to such a cheap plastic which can't even withstand less than a year of sun warp. What is even more upsetting is that thule doesn't even carry replacement clips... what am I to do now? I purchased it brand new from REI in conshohocken march of 2010... However, this unit does cut down on a lot of noise and makes your car look cooler..

Comments about Thule Fairing:
I got it to get rid of the howling wind noise. It did the job - but it does not eliminate all noise - I have some general wind noise now but it is much more muted.
Also, keep in mind when installing whether you have a sun roof or not. You may have to adjust cross bars so faring doesn't press down on the sun roof as I would expect there is significant downward pressure at speed.
Construction is a bit cheap for price - I'll see how it holds up.
