Great stuff, but it gets messy due to runniness/viscosity. I bought one during the cold months ending winter, and it was too thick to pour out during a 45ish deree morning. :-( Warmed it up and kept it room temp for consistent results. Bottle says its room stable up to 2 months, and can be kept longer if refrigerated (with the problem of it being thicker than pudding).

I have tried several different brands of energy gels and tolerate most. The best benefit of this product (besides the superior nutrition make-up) is the convenience of carrying a gel bottle on my fuel belt instead of several individual packets. The gel bottle reduces waste and cuts down on the sticky mess that usually comes with opening/using gels on the run. It's cheaper per serving to buy it this way also. Quality, natural ingredients make Hammer the ideal training product.

Tip: If you use a gel flask, add 1 oz. of H2O to the flask first, then add the gel, shake to mix. It's much easier to get the gel out of the flask.

I like that it doesn't contain artificial ingredients and it still taste better than any other gel I've tried. It taste more like raspberry preserves than typical energy gel. You can also feel it hit your system, which is impressive for something without any caffeine in it.

Great Product, great price on sale - the espresso is good and the caffeine helps (this is my favorite)

I have also tried the individual packets: the Vanilla is nasty - Green apple is good - Raspberry is good, it taste like like jelly...

While I'm extremely pleased with the individual packs, I recently was talked into buting the 26 serving/650 ml bottle. They say each serving is 2 tablespoons and claim there's 26 servings in this bottle. If you do a milliliter/tablespoon conversion you'll find that 650 ml only yields about 44 tablespoons or 22 servings. I've emailed Hammer Gel to complain. Don't like the misrepresentation from such a great product. Maybe they just can't do math?

Raspberry is a great flavor for those who like tart flavors. I'm the type who tries to stay away from sweeter flavors, those like chocolate, espresso, and vanilla.
Compared to Gu (original), this stacks up pretty well. You don't get the almost instant jolt of energy without the caffeine, but when used properly, it will provide you with an even stream of energy.

I do pick this option every time compared to Gu because Gu doesn't readily offer their product in bulk form. I really hate having to open those packs between my teeth while riding. Lastly, I carry a 10oz (5 serving) flask full of this stuff in my jersey pocket every time I ride. Best of all, I find it stores well, even if I don't use the whole flask.

REI needs to stock VANILLA flavor as well!! For Century rides you need a more neutral taste. using the 650ml gel in squeeze bottles elliminates the problem of what to do with empty gel packets?!?!?!
