very disappointed
I have a pair of Salomon trail running shoes I absolutely love. I can't believe these shorts came from the same company. I'm just between medium and large in running shorts from REI, Hind, and most other brands. I ordered the large in these and they're really, really tight. I don't think the product description of "relaxed fit" is accurate. The sides are slit very high, almost up to my hip bone. While that does contribute to mobility it looks really awful - especially being as tight as they are. Even if they fit, they'd be a lot more revealing than I'd be comfortable with. Also, the image of the Autobahn color on my monitor is a very pretty forest green. The shorts I received, labeled by the manufacturer as being Autobahn, were a dull medium grey with lots of gaudy orange-red trim. I'm sure that's just a posting error on REI's site, but it was a bit of a surprise. There is one good thing about them - the fabric. It's very soft and silky and stretchy. I will be returning them tomorrow.
Not So Bad
I thought I might be in between sizes, so I ordered two. I have other Salomon apparel, and these shorts do run a little smaller. I think they are good for warm weather running, fabric is comfortable. They have a lower rise, but I like that they aren't too baggy.
