The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
This is a gem of a cable lock, simple to use, versatile, and sturdy. Setting up the combination is really straight forward using a ballpoint pen or pencil. It's great for everyday use at work or with gym lockers. It's also perfect for securing checked baggage zippers.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
Excellent quality, very easy to set and use. Great for attaching zippers on duffel bags when the shackle locks are too short.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
like some reviewers have pointed out it is hard to change the combination by holding down the pin. I help down the pin and change the combination and I must not have held it down hard enough because I can't open the lock anymore. The lock is useless now.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
I use two of these cable locks with a Pelican case that holds my camera equipment. A regular padlock doesn't work well with this case, and these cable locks are just about perfect.
I found the locks very easy to set to my desired number. Just use a ballpoint pen to push in the button and you shouldn't have any problems.
I have found that these cable locks are also very easy to use under normal conditions.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
Read the previous two online reviews, so had to add my 2 cents.
Bought this lock in Anchorage at the REI, which happens to be the best store I've visited. Needed a lock that fit through the zipper pulls of my roll-on luggage. This lock works great. EASY to set the combo, use a ball point pen to push the bottom button in while setting your custom combination.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
I bought this cable lock to bind 2 sets of zippers together on a piece of luggage to avoid using 2 of the shackle locks. But like the other reviewer said, the cable lock is difficult to use. I followed the instructions to set the combination and pushed in the button needed for setting the combination with a jumbo paper clip and moved all 3 dials to numbers that I wanted. However, when I got to the last number the paper clip fell out and the set button came loose (it's very difficult to keep the paper clip pressed in). As a result the combination that I wanted to set did not open the lock, nor did the default 000. I'm left with a cable lock that I cannot use, since I cannot open it with any combination. Can I return this to REI without the packaging? (It's very difficult to get to the cable lock through the packaging without first destroying the packaging).
I will be returning the cable lock (without packaging) to REI.
I highly recommend using the REI shackle locks as they are made of better quality material and the combination is very easy to set. I've bought 3 shackle locks already.

Comments about REI Cable Lock:
I got this for an extended trip to several countries. This lock, although the cable feature fits various pack/duffle/bag zippers, is very difficult to use. The dials are extremly difficult to see and align properly so the lock will open. We had another brand of cable lock that worked quite a bit better. The REI solid shackle one did work beautifuly and I do recommend that one.
