There is only one thing lacking on this pillow. Extend the fabric around the vent to make room for a small (brass or plastic) grommet so that you can retain the pillow with a carabiner or paracord. I travel over 200000 air miles a year and this would help me not to lose it when walking thru airports.

I have had this pillow for at least three years and it works great for me. I have used it on weekend outings and at least three extended backpaking trips of over a week each.

I also have a Thermorest compressible pillow, but I much prefer this inflatable. It packs much smaller and is as firm as you want when inflated. The Thermorest is very flat when unpacked.

This last week my wife tried it for the first time on a four day trip and now she wants one of her own.

My son has tried it and says it is useles. Just depends on how you sleep I guess.

In the past, I've used wadded up t-shirts or sweaters as a pillow when backpacking. I saw this travel pillow on the REI website and decided to give it a try seeing how light it is. I was super satisfied with how small it packs and it's light weight! The best thing about it, though, is how perfect it feels when sleeping on your back. It props your head up nicely and keeps your spine aligned through the neck. Furthermore, the rubber on the back is truly a nice addition, seeing that it didn't move around throughout the night. Great product!

I bought this to bring on my backpacking and car camping trips. I do like the fact that it packs up small and flat and can fit pretty much anywhere in your backpack. I did not like the fact that I had a very hard time finding a comfortable sleeping position. I would toss and turn all night and wind up with a sore neck or headache. I eventually bought the Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow (Medium size) and I am extremely happy. It's soft and supportive but still small enough to pack. (It's not quite as small as the inflatable though)

I've had this for about three months, and I LOVE this pillow. It rolls up into a medium/smallish tube, and self-inflates nicely.

I've used it so far on a two-week camping/road trip and on several plane trips. I've definitely got back and neck issues, and was happy to find that this was just fine for me. I was afraid that I'd have to stop somewhere on my camping trip and pick up an extra pillow, but there was no need.

It doesn't always get as full on its own as I'd like, so sometimes I blow an extra blast of air in there and then close it tightly. Overall though, this is excellently easy to operate, a nice small size, and comfortable.

I've used this on bus trips through Turkey and transcontinental flights and was always surprised by how comfortable it is for its odd shape--it really doesn't feel like an inflatable, and it really does pack down ridiculously tiny. But earlier this week I started having bad neck and shoulder pain from sleeping on my side and not getting enough neck support from my regular pillows. A "bowtie-shaped" orthopedic pillow was recommended, and before going out and buying one I remembered this little guy. I thought it was a bit odd to use my backpacking pillow at home, but man oh man, there is definitely no need to buy anything else. Two nights and the pain is gone! The valve lets me adjust the firmness easily, and it just couldn't be better.

Bought this to replace my cheap air pillow I bought from a sporting goods store. I was very excited to give the pillow a go. It packs small and inflates quick and was perfect for taking along on the plane and backpacking. Despite these benefits, I just couldn't get it to work for me sleeping in a tent. I found it didn't support my neck enough when on my back or side. I really need a wider pillow to pop my head up and also support my neck and this one unfortunately didn't cut it for me. My hiking partner slept well on it, so I really think it depends on sleeping style and how much support you need. I returned it and am trying out another one.

I always travel w/ this pillow (airplane, car), sometimes use it camping, but I'm afraid of losing it. For lumbar support it has no equal in my long experience.
The self inflation works very well. Pillow is very easy to pack, deflates to flat. The bone shape is perfect for a tall, slender person. The cover is comfortable even on bare skin.
I own two (just in case), now I'm getting two more for family members. It's so worth the price.
