I returned the NF Meru jacket for this one. Both are very light weight, great mobility, love the varying fits for the hood. I got this one because it had front pockets where the Meru was mostly for storage (no space for hands) and this also has pit zips, which I like to have when hiking. Additionally I find the cinching on the hood easier to do and release. The Meru jacket kept everything inside the lining which means fumbling a bit to get things loose. I love this jacket aside from the fit of the pit zips. They are stiff and the slim fit of the jacket makes them push into my arm pits. Currently it feels like someone is holding me under my arms. But I forget about it. I notice it mostly when I layer it on top of my Arc'Teryx windbreaker or my Patagonia down sweater.

That said if you've never bought Arc'Teryx before I find their sizing to be on the small size.

This jacket worked really well for me while I was in Peru. It was raining and cold almost everyday, and very windy. This jacket kept me dry while others were drenched. It's also very stylish and the lilac color I have is very cute. It will not keep you warm at all, but if you wear other warm layers underneath this is a great addition to the top layer of an outfit. When I was walking around machu picchu I got very warm, and the zippers under the arms really helped air get through and cool me down. Overall this is a great product and I am very satisfied.

Perfect for vacation to SE Asia. Squash in bottom of tote, pull it out and it soon is wrinkle free. In South Texas weather it is good for summer rain or winter rain with a layer underneath. Protects equally well from the wind. I am very pleased with this attractive jacket. I have recommended this to people who have admired it.
