Comments about Century Single Burner Stove:

Looks great for what we have in mind for car camping and rafting. Just bought so field test is coming. First impression- looks great, fairly small, lights east in the driveway- may be another thing in winds. For being tall seems okay for stability. Would want to be careful with large pots of raviolis, especially if people are hungry.

Have an REI APEX that is leaking gas at pump, not sure if I can fix- but definitely disappointed on the last E.Carson boating trip. We ended up heating water on a fire. Anyway- this looks like it will do the trick on short weekend adventures, 2-burner back-up, and tailgating at our local ski areas.

Comments about Century Single Burner Stove:

I got this because I needed a stove for an extended car camping trip. Since then I've taken it on 4 long road trips (2-3+ weeks each) and a few shorter excursions with no problems. I've been quite pleased with it though it is a [$] stove and you get what you pay for. On the positive side, the stove is simple to set up, you just screw it onto a propane bottle and but the bottle in the stand, and it lights easily with a match or piezo. It produces lots of heat but can also be easily turned down to simmer when you need to. The stove and stand easily fit together into the included carrying bag with space left over for lighters matches etc and once packed up, everything is quite compact (it's certainly not as small as a backpacking stove but it's much smaller than most camp stoves). I've never needed to clean mine there really isn't much to get dirty so I can't comment on that. It comes with a plastic cap that fits over the piece that goes into the propane bottle. I recommend keeping the cap to prevent this piece from getting bent or dirty in storage (which might otherwise be possible). The main problems this stove has are that it is quite tall when set up and so can be unstable if you don't have a nice flat surface also it lacks any sort of wind protection so can blow out in big gusts (because it can be turned up so high you can often keep it running in the wind by cranking up the heat but it's not a great approach for cooking). These however, are fairly small gripes especially considering the priceI wouldn't bet my life on this stove but for car camping it offers a cheap, compact option with good temperature control which easily meets the needs of 1-2 people.

Comments about Century Single Burner Stove:

Good stove. It lights well and heats quickly, and is very fuel efficient. I would not use it for backpacking due to its weight and bulk (not to mention the added weight and size of the fuel canisters), but it does well as a car camping stove.

This stove has better temperature control than competitive models. Great for car camping and could be used also for shorter backpacking trips.

Comments about Century Single Burner Stove:

We decided that we didn't need our bulky two burner camp stove anymore so we bought the Coleman Perfect Flow, which is basically the same design as this Century model. The problem with the Coleman stove was that while it did well at the high and medium temperature settings, it would constantly go out at the low setting. So we were either constantly relighting it or burning the food. The Century temperature control is far superior. It works well at any temperature from a gentle simmer to full boil. It seem to be good quality and is great for car camping and could also be used for shorter backpacking trips.
