The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated4out of5byBhacfromGood intro pedalsThese are the first clipless pedals I've every used, and they're pretty great. Easy to install and adjust, good (for me) tension on exit. They are a little large, but the design means they can be used with flats with minimal issues on short distances.

Rated5out of5byJAWBECKfromGreat pedalsThe pedals are dual sided and has a decent platform.
It is not the best platform for riding without SPD shoes. A bit on the small side. But when clipped in they work great.

Rated5out of5byVlad the PedalerfromBest of both worlds...My wife got the Shimano M424 SPD Pedals along with shoes as my Christmas gift and I couldn't be any happier. My form has greatly improved. Make sure you spend some time to adjust the release tension. I rushed out on my first ride and it was a little tighter than I expected for an unplanned stop and needless to say I failed to get my foot on the ground in time. (SPD Rookie's 1st fall) 130 + miles and they've been AWESOME! Oh, and if I go out for a quick ride with regular shoes they work just fine.

Rated4out of5byGatorfromCould not be easier to install an use. This pedal was my first experience wit a "clip in" pedal and I am sorry I did not switch sooner. Installation took less than 5 minutes (you only need a 15mm spanner wrench). Directions are clear cut and thorough and getting acclimated to the "clip-in" process took less than 5 minutes (realistically 2-3 repetitions and I was comfortable). The feel is solid and there definitely is a feeling that you are a part of the bike and I agree with previous comments that I find my pedaling is more effective when compared to a standard pedal. I also purchased new Pearl Izumi cycling shoes and attaching the SPD (comes with pedals) clip to the shoe was easy and straightforward.

Rated4out of5byalfeezyfromPuts up with abuseIm really happy with this purchase. The sales man installed them for me and adjusted them just right after telling him i have never used these types of pedals. I feel twice as fast and my legs feel a workout that i never felt before. I recommend this product. I really like the platforms they are great if i just want to wear sandals just to run to the store real fast.

Rated4out of5byZO6fromSolid PedalsNot sure if I would buy these again or go with one-sided pedals.. I feel like I don't have a solid platform when clipped out, going down steep terrain. That said, I have never had clip-ins of any sort for my mtn. bike, so I don't have a lot of experience to draw from..
Otherwise, pedals work great and pretty easy to get in and out of.

Rated4out of5byres13cuefromSolid pedal, especially for the priceI have been riding SPD pedals on all mountain and cross country mountain bikes for the past 15 years. I recently purchased this platform SPD pedal when I branched out to resort downhill riding. The reason I made this switch was due to a recent trip where I "sent it" off of a good sized jump on a black diamond trail and my right foot came out of my standard SPD pedal. Landing a big jump with 3 points of contact is an endeavor I did not wish to repeat. With the platform, even if you accidentally release from the SPD, at least you have something. I still ride rocky, technical sections where I may need to quickly release from the pedal so I do not wish to ratchet the tension too strong on the SPD. I've found this platform to be a reasonable compromise of stability and ease of release. Overall, the pedal has worked flawlessly. It is comparable in performance to more expensive models of SPD pedals. If need be, you can use this pedal without SPD compatible shoes. I have no serious gripes concerning this product.
