Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
My old peddles rusted over the winter on ym commuter bike so I needed a quick fix and bought these.
They seemed ok in the package, nice and light weight.
However the barrings feel like there is gravel in there.
The "top and bottom" and bottom are different, one side has a smaller foot platform so if the peddle is flipped from the comfortable side it is too small and feels odd while placing a pressure point in the middle of my foot.
Overall these are not a quality peddle, even for a quick fix.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
Put these on my mountain bike for XC. They were ok, but the grip just wasn't there when I needed it. My feet kept on slipping off the pedals. Would recommend it for casual biking, but that's it.
Then the real problem came when I tried to uninstall them. (pedals installed by REI and I am aware of thread directions) The right side pedal seized and I ended up stripping the 15mm head and the allen head. So, now there's no way for me to get this pedal off. (Metal too soft? I don't know)

I got these to replace the pedals that came with my Cannondale Bad Boy 9, which didn't allow me to install toeclips.
I bike 25-40 miles on the weekends around Seattle - Mercer Island, West Seattle, Lake Washington loop.
These pedals are simple, minimal and functional which is exactly what I was looking for. They work will with my Adidas Sambas. They were pretty inexpensive too. I have zero complaints so far.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
I purchased a higher end MTB that didnt come with pedals, supposing that I had my own pedals to pair with the bike. I didnt, and I dont really care for the "extra advantage" that clipless/clip-in pedals offer, so I bought the cheapest metal pedals REI had to offer. They are quite light, less clunky than the Wellgo ATB / BMX pedals in the same price bracket. They grip your footwear fantastically too, and I wont ever have to worry about the grip wearing out. I could install them easily without any special tools, just an adjustable wrench. Took me a bit to figure out that one pedal threads "righty-loosey, lefty-tighty" though, as I have never threaded new pedals before.
The pedals do exhibit some rolling resistance in rotating around the center shaft. Probably a cheap bearing/lubrication design. I can live with it though, Im out to have fun, not break some world record. One of the plastic reflectors sheared off when taking the bike for a test spin, but I ride trails, so I ended up taking off the tacky plastic inserts anyways. The pedals look sleek now and I just wear lots of lights if riding around traffic in low light conditions.
A very happy MTBiker who does not have to concern himself with pedals and the like when tearing up some dirt, I am.
In theory, these could be used for more benign outings such as on a family bike that sees mostly garages, sidewalks, cul-de-sacs, and grenways, but they would definitely give your beach cruiser a more aggressive look with the teeth of the pedals and all.
EDIT: I didnt even realize that the sides were asymmetrical until I read some other reviews. I like the "trained them to sit in the right position with a piece of heavy metal" technique that someone mentioned. I probably wont go to all the effort though, as I never noticed it in all of my rides so far. Kudos for engineering, though.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
With the pedals that cane with my hybred bike I was always adjusting where my feet where. Always trying to keep them from sliding off. I am a casual rider, riding for heart healthy excercise. With the M21 pedals my feet stay firmly in place throughout my ride. Also, I seem to have more pedap power making the ride easier. Good product. I am enjoying my rides.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
I put a pair of these on my main commuter bike about three years ago. I ride every day in four seasons. I live in a very snowy area, and winter conditions include road salt, slush, and lots of grit and grime. After three years of everyday use, these pedals are in great shape. I've never lubed them, and they still spin very freely.
The pedals have an asymmetric design that makes them feel better in one orientation than the other. I "trained" them to sit in the right position by replacing one of the stock reflectors with a replacement that is heavy and metal, and the weight pulls one side of the pedal down in the right orientation so that when I step down, the correct surface is up. The pedal reflectors that come with these pedals are plastic and they break off eventually anyway. No big deal. I put reflective tape on the other side.
I ride in street shoes, and these have worked well with just about everything. I don't have big feet (men's 9), but these have worked well with the hiking boots I wear on snowy days.
Other than the minor annoyance of occasionally getting the wrong side of the pedal, these have been absolutely ideal.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
I bought a pair of these for casual/commuter type riding (I'm living in Korea at the moment and don't have a car). I've been happy with them. They've been used almost daily for 9 months and I haven't had the durability issues mentioned in other reviews. And I'm not always gentle with my bike! I've noticed that when it's raining, the platform surfaces can seem a little slippery, but they still perform acceptably. When I'm doing longer recreational rides, I switch back to my clipless pedals and cycling shoes.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
This was a replacement for the resin pedals on my cannondale quick-6 I bought at REI. They broke in 2 months, split right in half. The replacement pedals are way too small for my feet, size 12, and I got used to them. Having to flip them for grip as your ride is very distracting. They just fell apart on a flat road and the bearings spilled out. Lost the pedal on the road had to keep riding 4 more miles on it. I would not recommend this for more than simple easy riding, and feet under size 10.

Comments about Wellgo M-21 ATB Pedals:
I am a college student just getting into mountain biking, and bought these pedals to replace my cheap plastic pedals which tore within a week of owning the bike. After installing the pedals, the bike was actually stolen and recovered and the bike had obviously been abused, but to my surprise, the pedals were still in excellent condition! I have been using them heavily every day, and am beyond satisfied with them! Great value. More than I expected!
Service and delivery comments:
They arrived quickly and well packaged. Very pleased with service!
