Comments about Delta Cycle Michelangelo Gravity Storage:

This is actually a nice, inexpensive and stylish way to display your bikes. There is a recommendation in the instructions to secure the rack to the wall with a screw, and I probably would have done that but...

My 29er and my road bike would not fit vertically very well. If I wanted to remove the lower bike, it seemed I always had to remove my upper bike.

I think it's just that the 29er is a bit big... the handle bars also rub the wall if not careful. The rubbing is not an issue with my road bike.

None of this is a complaint and what I can't tell you for sure is if another 84" tall rack would have the same issue. The curve at the top of this one probably restricts the true useable height from 84" to 80".

If you don't have a 29er and a 56.5" or taller road bike, this may work fine. Someone else may say they don't have an issue, just giving you a heads-up.

Comments about Delta Cycle Michelangelo Gravity Storage:

When I became the owner of two bikes, I needed a better way to store them other than leaning them against the wall by the door to my one-bedroom condo. This cleans up the area well and leaves space for welcoming guests, saying goodbye, etc.

          Pros:
-VERY easy and quick to put together. I put it together in less time than it took a pot of rice to cook.
-Looks clean. Other than the red color of the hooks themselves, nothing about the rack really stands out or intrudes into the "vibe" of your room (which is awesome, since it's right in my living room).
-Extra smaller hooks are great for storing helmet, lock, etc.
          -It works (mostly, see cons).

          Cons:
-Really, I've only found one so far: My 1980s steel-framed Ross road bike weighs about 31 pounds, so I put it on the bottom hooks. My brand-new 20-pound Scott road bike went up top. The Scott is hanging neat and tight, but the Ross has inched toward the ground, to the point where the back wheel basically rests on the ground. It doesn't bother me too much, though, because I didn't necessarily buy the rack to get them completely off the ground, just to organize them. If the bike on top sunk down, that would be a big problem, but it doesn't.

I guess my bottom line is this: If you want to store two 30-pound (or more) bikes, be careful about putting one up top. It might not hold. You could easily work up something to keep the red hooks from sliding down, but it's a bummer that it doesn't just WORK as-is.

Fortunately, this rack does work for me and the bikes I have right now.

Comments about Delta Cycle Michelangelo Gravity Storage:

A great product that finally got our bikes out of the way in our garageless house. Best of all, it's incredibly stable without requiring me to drill any holes in the wall. The directions for putting it together could have been a little more clear, but it wasn't too hard to fill in the gaps. Overall, a fairly inexpensive option that works just as advertised.

Comments about Delta Cycle Michelangelo Gravity Storage:

Works great for hanging bikes in garage so I could park in it. I'm a renter so I'm glad that there's no drilling or the like to lose my deposit on. However, the top leans forward if not positioned perfectly, and the bikes can be difficult to maneuver for easy access. Holds my stuff, but I don't know if it would work inside the apartment too well. I could see a kid bumping it and causing a pile of broken arms and bike parts. For what it is, it should be cheaper (maybe 1/2 the cost?).

Comments about Delta Cycle Michelangelo Gravity Storage:

When I got the rack a year ago, I had many of the same concerns as others - would it fall down, would the hooks slip, would it be sturdy enough, etc. but went ahead because it was so much lower price than other types of racks.

After having it a year, I'm thrilled with this purchase! 365 days, removing bikes and putting them back up probably at least 100 times, having my dog crash into it dozens of times, and it has never fallen! The hooks have not slipped down the posts at any time.

I recommend that you store your heavier bike on the bottom. When I had my mountain bike on top and then would remove the road bike, such that the mountain bike in the top spot was the only bike on the rack, it never actually fell but it made me nervous.

The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bikes sit really close to the wall, so the handlebars and front tires leave a lot of marks on the wall.

This is a great rack and I would definitely choose this one again!!

One of the threaded screw bosses in the H-brace was kind hard to screw in. The "accessory hooks" don't stay put. Those are minor to me, not really worth deducting a star.

Holds my road bike & hardtail MTB just fine. It doesn't look like the stand will tip over any time soon.

Comments about Delta Cycle Michelangelo Gravity Storage:

I store x2 mountain bikes and a road bike in my garage. This rack stores the mountain bikes while also freeing up a lot of space for my other outdoor items. The only issue I have is with the arms that hold the bicycles by the frame and this is only because of the type of frames I have. If you know the shape of a YETI AS-R and a YETI 575 then you know that the frames dip in the center and have a triangle under the seat that the suspension linkage utilizes. You have to mount the bike on the rack through this triangle and up near the head tube which makes for an akward fit because of the slightly lopsided resting position that is the result of said geometry. Because the arms that hold the bike do not lock onto the actual rack this causes the arms to move when lifting the bike out of the arms. The arms are also coated in rubber so they tend to stick to the frame, which also contributes to the arms moving and thus not freeing from the frame. If you have a standard bicyle frame with a bend- free tob tube you should have no issues. Other than that, the rack works great and the issues identified have not driven me to consider a different product.

As an apartment-dweller and without a garage, it's really handy to store my nice road bike conveniently inside the house - that way it won't get stolen or be subject to the elements. Really intuitive and easy to set up and easy to adjust as well. Have had it for 4 months now and it's holding up really well.
