Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
This purchase is about my 5th pair of Moab Ventilators - I have also worn the low hikers. I have hiked at least a thousand miles on theses shoes - they last quite well through a couple hundred miles. Comfortable, durable and light!

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Ordered online without ever owning a pair or trying on. I've purchased Merrell products in the past and have been pleased with the overall quality. These particular shoes were a bit stiff at first, but have since broken in nicely. They will last and perform as expected. I like them and my opinion of Merrell is that they continue to produce quality products where you get what you pay for.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Well made, comfortable and true to size. I wear them mostly for work, but they would be fine for light day hikes on intermediate terrain. I think the toe-box guard could be beefed up a bit to be more protective of the toes.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Good for warm weather & very light loads.
Not good for cold or wet, or when carrying lots of photo gear.
Feet slid forward in thin socks and toes were pinched when going downhill.
Good for wandering around warm areas. Will take them back to Joshua Tree NP.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I bought this shoe for my one day 16 mile Grand Canyon Hike, they preformed well. I should have bought the high top model because of the steepness of the terrain, I could not keep my feet from slidding forward on the decent but that was my fault not the shoe. Great value for the money!

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I normally wear Keens, but after trying these Merrill's, decided to try something new. They were comfortable for the short while I tried , but the despite the ventilation, the shoes were incredibly warm. Didn't keep them.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Bought this as a "sturdy walking shoe" for upcoming extended trip to Europe - purchase was made based on my previous experiene with the waterproof boot version of the Merrell Moab.
This shoe is very comfortable, but I have noticed that there is something in the heel that feels like two balls or prongs poking into your foot (noticed the same thing in the boot version and some other Merrels I've tried with their Air Cushion soles). At first I thought it was a problem, but the more I wear these shoes (and the boots) the more comfortable they are - it's almost like a 'mini massage'. May not be for everybody!
If you need extra arch support, this shoe was clearly designed for people with "normal" feet - bring your inserts/orthotics/supports with you when you try the shoes on to make sure you get the right size. Failure to do so will probably result in you finding that the shoes are too small/tight with the inserts in.
Not much ankle support - if you need that get the boot version of the Moab (also an awesome product that REI has).
Great traction on all surfaces (even in the wet).
I bought this "Ventilator" version specifically for summer use - so far my feet have been nice and toasty in the winter/spring weather so I hope these shoes aren't too warm in the summer (the waterproof boots were no problem in summer though so these should be just fine).
Good build quality, excellent design, and quality materials.
Ugly laces...
Overall great shoes that I would definitely buy again and recommend to anybody.
I give 'em a 4 out of 5 because nothing is perfect.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I just bought this pair thinking I'd use them for long off-trail dayhikes. They may be a little lighter than optimum for that, however, they felt great climbing the AON building's 63 stories "Fight for Air" event early this month.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Very comfortable with little break-in. I've worn them almost every day and I'm wearing them right now. They might not work too well for cold/wet-weather hiking, but they do for everything else.

Comments about Merrell Moab Ventilator Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I recently bought these for my trip to Moab and Canyonlands in southern Utah. These shoes are amazing and work great on the slick rock trails and sand in Moab. I also have another pair for work. I'm a home inspector and they work great for climbing on ladders and great traction on roofs. I also use them hiking around the Cascades in the middle of summer when its dryer. I highly recommend these.
