I just returned from a 10-day trip to Costa Rica with this bag and it performed admirably!

It is perfectly sized for aircraft overhead compartments, and the hang loop on the end of the bag makes it easy to remove during debarking. Its soft sides allow it to fit in spaces that conventional carry-on suitcases can't.

The inside pockets are placed on the sides and lid, so you can access them even if the bag is filled with clothes. The outside zippered pocket fits a passport and boarding passes perfectly. The double-zipper on the main compartment allows you to lock them together with a travel lock. The shoe pocket worked well with my low-cut hikers, but fitting ankle-high boots might be a bit tight. The vented laundry pocket did an excellent job keeping my dirty clothes funk-free.

On the return trip, the flight from IAH to PDX was completely full and they asked if anyone would voluntarily check their carry-on. I removed the shoulder strap from the bag and checked it. It survived the cargo compartment and baggage handlers with no problems.

I use it for the gym and pool; there are a great amount of pockets for swim cap, goggles, and ear plugs, flip-flops and runners. The netted pockets hold my toiletriesand there is still room for a towel and clothes.Fits into a standard gym locker too!

This bag is terribly designed. The Velcro handle destroyed several pairs of my pants. Unfortunately, because I do not inspect my pants every night it took over a month for me to notice. How did that happen you might ask? Because the handle does not close properly it will rub against the side of your pants. If you are like me and walk a fair amount with your gym bag, the Velcro will rub against your pants and destroy them. If you absolutely must buy this bag, remove the handle or put tape on the Velcro.

This bag serves as my gym bag 5days a week. It has plenty of pockets. My shoes can fiit in one of the two end storage areas. However, my size 10.5 shoes just fit. Larger shoes would need to go in the main compartment. Inside the main compartment there are two mesh pockets, a large zip pocket on the opposite side and one on the top flap. Great storage for all your toiletries. This is a really functional gym bag. The subtle colors and discreet REI logos make it a great weekend bag too. The only major gripe I have is that the zipper pulls can get caught in another zipper pull. Overall I would give this bad a 9 out of 10!

This is an excellent gym bag. I've used it for carrying my gym clothes everyday to work, and also for overnight or weekend trips. It also serves well as a carry-on bag for the plane.

The only thing I don't like is the weak material used for the bottle pocket - it tears easily. The rest of the materials used in the construction are very durable.

I really like this bag, but here are a couple gripes about it:
1) I use this mainly when I go to the gym at 24hr fitness. This doesn't fit perfectly in the gym locker so I have to push it in a little
2) The side pocket is too small. I'm not sure why they curved the stictching the way they did, but I would have much prefered a rectangular shopped pocket so I that I can fit my wallet/keys/phones in there for easy access.

Other than that, the bag is really light to lug around and it's very spacious. I put a size 9 running shoe in the shoe compartment (but it doesn't look like it can fit shoes too much bigger than that), t-shirt, shorts, gym towel, bath towel, flip flops in the other side compartment for wet clothes and there's still space!

This bag is simply put, AWESOME! I work out twice a day, CrossFit in the AM and run in the PM. I bring this bag to work with me and it fits everything. One pair of 9.5 Brooks fits in one end perfectly and another pair of 9.5 NB Minimus plus shower shoes fits in the other end perfectly. There is easily enough room for a larger size shoe. The inside fits 2 sets of workout clothes plus a jacket for the cooler days, towel, toiletries and more. It is well made with quality materials, easy access to everything, etc, etc. I could go on and on. Basically if you are on the fence about buying this bag, buy it! Trust me you will not regret it.

This bag is great! It's big, durable, and all the pockets are easy to access. I bought it as a carry-on/weekender bag and it appears to be great for those uses. To be honest, I think it is a bit too nice to use as a gym bag, but it is quite versatile. The padded shoulder strap is also pretty comfortable (when carried that way) and appears to be quite strong.
