Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
I bought a Forerunner for running, but since I do a bit of triathlon and commute on my bike, i thought I'd spring for the sensor so I could measure my cadence (my bike computer doesn't measure that).
It's a relatively simple bit of kit. A magnet for the wheel and a sensor that you fasten to the bike, and another sensor on the pedals.
The setup in theory is simple, all 3 pieces 'synch' when colored lights flash as the pedal and wheel pass by. Boy did I have issues. The pedal one synched fine, but the wheel one just wouldn't synch. I had it to within a hairs breadth and still it wasn't working. After googling it, I did a reset and since then it's worked flawlessly.
Performance wise the speed and distance appear spot on - seems even more accurate than my bike computer (note to self - change wheel size on computer).
Haven't used it in the rain, so intrigued by the overall water resistance and longevity, but it's a nice piece of kit.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
I recently purchased a Kinetic Trainer to give me an indoor training option. Wanting to know how many miles I ride when on the trainer I paired the GSC 10 with my Garmin Forerunner 305 and everything works perfectly! The installation and pairing was simple, the instructions easy to follow, and the GSC 10 / Forerunner 305 / Kinetic Trainer combination provides me with an indoor workout that yields the same data (speed, distance, heart rate, etc.) as when I cycle outdoors.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
I recently tried the Timex Speed/Cadence sensor which is horribly difficult to get working.
In comparison, the Garmin Speed/Cadence sensor is superior in every way.
1) It's a single device instead of separate sensors
2) Install couldn't be easier - the speed sensor arm rotates toward the tire and tightens with a screw - excellent engineering by Garmin's team!
3) The device includes sensor guide lines on the device so you can be sure the sensors/magnets are in EXACTLY the right place
I use this device with my Timex Global Trainer GPS watch. Unlike Timex's Speed/Cadence sensor, the Garmin synced INSTANTLY with my watch and both sensors worked perfectly on the first attempt.
I couldn't recommend this device more - kudos to Garmin's team for a wonderful piece of engineering.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
Purchased with the hopes I could pair with my Forerunner 305 and capture speed/cadence data while on the trainer. I couldn't find any reviews to confirm if this would work while indoors and stationary. I just finished setting up (very quick and easy) and can verify both functions work. Forerunner switches to indoor mode, but displays heart-rate, speed and cadence which is fantastic for tracking my effort on the trainer! I will likely move this to my road bike in the spring as well. Highly recommend.
I have given 5 stars, hopefully the long-term performance and durability will live up to that rating.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
Have used one with a Garmin Edge on a full suspension mountain bike (two years 7,000 miles) and one with a cross bike (two months) and it performs well on both bikes in all weather conditions. Some folks have switched to a cheap rare earth magnet in place of the strap-on magnet that comes with the sensor. (Allows alternate placement due to strength of the magnet).

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
I switched from a Blackburn model which i've used for two years and over 10,000miles to this one which only lasted ~2months. It worked fantastic when roads were dry but only until received its first rain. It has an "o-ring" that did not avoid water to soak the electronics.
Since i already have the Edge model, I decided to purchase another one and have a some silicone on top to avoid water intrussion. lets see.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
I picked this up on a REI used gear sale. Didn't know if it would work with my Forerunner 305...but it did. Once you get the concept of the two magets...one for speed and one for cadence it makes it alot easier to install...took me a while on that one. I think the directions could explain it better. Once you sync it...make sure you hit the reset button...have your watch scanning for the device...and spin the wheel to engage the magnets it syncs. You never have to sync it again...just turn on the Garmin and it finds it. It's great to not have to run wires on your bike. I'm going to pick up the mount for my watch so I don't have to keep looking at my wrist. It would be nice if this product with a bracket that attached to the handlebars for your watch.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
Works well and is easy to set up. I guess I should have read more about it before I purchased it since I was expecting that it would give me my speed as well as cadence on an Oregon 300 gps. You might not think that would matter since the gps gives you that anyway. Well, not on a staionary bike. It would be great to get cadence, speed, and heart rate for use as a fitness monitor. Maybe there is a way to do that, I will revise this review if I find a way.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
This is my second sensor. The first one died due to getting the internals wet on an extremely rainy day. Garmin replaced it immediately and the unit has been running flawlessly for over a year, without exception. The Garmin sensor is the only combo speed/cadence sensor that works. Have used a couple from CatEye which failed within weeks.

Comments about Garmin GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor:
Bought this to go with my Forerunner 50. The 50 was pure junk so I returned it and bought a 305. Together they make a great pair for my road bike. Gives me cadence and when I'm on a trainer it gives me speed. It was easy to mount and sync, once that's done you can forget about it, it just works.
