    Beware the locking skewers on this system. When not carrying bikes they will work themselves free and leave you lockless. Best to either ratchet them down hard or better still remove them completely when travelling without your bikes.

      I purchased two of these with an REI gift card that my bride-to-be and I received as a wedding shower gift... sweet gift right! The bike mount works wonderfully and looks good doing it. This review is given after one month of use. No complaints. The bikes are very stable, and the addition of locking cores (separate purchase) adds a great amount of security when you have to walk away from the car. If it was not for the generous gift we would have just gone with the lesser model of bike mount, but we are very happy with these! Also, no added wind noise noticed after installation (front fairing present of course).

        I looked at the Thule eschelon vs. the Yakima Sprocket Rocket. Both products are very nice and will work well. I leaned toward the Yakima because it required no tools to install or take off and the Thule Eschelon had exposed bolts that I envisioned would be an easier temptation for theives. The sprocket rocket also has a new modernized looking tray that works well with any size cycling tire.

          Installed the Yakima rack system after purchasing a car. Tried a couple different bike mounts and was not pleased with the wind noise or the lack of security. The SprocketRocket was easy to install, very little wind noise, and has the security features that give you the comfort to walk away from your car knowing your bike will be there when you get back.

          Went between Thule and Yakima - chose Yakima due to Sprocket Rocket. Bought roof rack at same time - again, easy to assemble and mount.

          This mount is very durable, stable, and solid. I actually got this because it matches the color of my car and it looks absolutely gorgeous! (As far as a bike rack goes, I guess.) The only downside with this might be price but if you look at some of the other racks it might be fairly comparable.
