      I ride all winter long, which includes every day commute in, often times, very wet and snowy conditions. I am less diligent than I should be about cleaning and lubricating, but so far the cables have held up to rust for an entire midwest winter. I plan to order the gear cables.

        My rides are between 30 and 90 miles, and not to put too fine a point on it, I sweat! The toptube break cable running outside a housing rusts out, even the best cables. This solves the problem-cold! An yes, the performance rates buying it alone.
