The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
At first, we struggled to figure out how to get the crampons into the storage bag. After we read some helpful reviews on how to fold and position the crampons - voila! - they fit!
First, we folded down the toe and the heel of each crampon. Next, slide the toe towards the heel to shorten the crampons. We placed the points together (crampons on their side) in a toe-to-heel position. This is similar to how new shoes are packed in their shoe box (though new shoes are typically laying on their side top-to-top, rather than soul-to-soul or point-to-point). Insert into the storage bag, zip it up, and head to the mountains!

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
This bag does exactly what it is meant for and for people who know how to pack crampons (90% of crampons on the market). If it was any bigger or sturdier, the extra weight would be an issue for mountaineers. Anyone who has common sense knows that before you buy a crampons case, specially if you have an older or oversized not collapsable crampons, you check the if it fits before you buy it. Or are they that narcissistic that they think that 99% of the people should have a bigger bag, just because their highness has an odd pair. Unbelievable!

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
I purchased this bag to store my crampons and the top mesh and bottom of the bag got torn. Considering your placing very sharp points in a bag like this, eventually it's going to happen. The bag in my opinion is to small and you really have to shorten the crampons as much as you can just to get them to fit and zip up the bag.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
I use this with BD Contact Crampons. It holds them fine.
The bag has several loops on the backside to attach outside your pack. It also lets the crampons dry out because the bag has mesh sides.
The only con is perhaps the price.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
I have Black Diamond Mako crampons which are a fully rigid crampon that does not adjust in the middle and they *do not* fit in this bag. How can BD sell a bag for their crampons when the crampons don't even fit? The bag fabric does not seem very robust, my mono vertical point would poke a hole right through it.

Used properly these will save you damage to your pack. Worth the price.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
These things work just fine. All crampons made within the last 20 years or so collapse with the center bar and fit in this bag nicely. Just push them together and put them in point to point. Point to point is also important, as the points can obviously penetrate the mesh and they can work their way through the vinyl. That's not a shortcoming of this crampon bag, that's a shortcoming of keeping your crampons in anything other than a metal box.
I like the daisy chain on the back; makes it easy to lash it to a backpack. It's much more convenient than the rubber tip protectors and if you use it like it's designed to be used, just as effective.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
Both my Black Diamond and Petzl cramons fit into this bag. The commenter that tried to fit his loafers into it was exceeding design limits. My buddy has Grivell's that do not break down in the middle, and they won't fit in this bag either.
It's lightweight & does just what it says it does. I too have punctured the bottom of it by crushing it in the bottom of the pack on approaches, but it's smaller and lighter than the Osprey pouch. A great alternative to bungee cords, straps and sharp points hanging off the top of your backpack.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
The size is fine, but the material is very flimsy and suffered multiple punctures on the first use. Luckily I noticed before the points ripped up the pack they were lashed to.

Comments about Black Diamond Crampon Bag:
Can't quite figure out the other reviews. This bag is the perfect size for "new" crampons (unlike older longer bags by OR and Grivel which I have purchased). New as in since the late 90's. They fit my Grivel G12s, BD Neves, BD Contacts and my friends Cyborgs. They don't fit my fully ridged CAMP Foot Fangs. Very durable with a daisy chain to secure it to your pack. Bright orange so you don't loose it in the snow. Does the job well and at a decent price.
