REI Members get back an estimated 10% on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

    Comments about Slime Presta Tube - 26 x 1.75-2.12:

I do like the way these seal smaller punctures. One thing I would suggest is that you not fill these in any room that you can't clean easily. I had a tube explode in the kitchen and the slime literally covered the place. It does clean up but having bright green slime all over does not make the rest of the family happy.

      Comments about Slime Presta Tube - 26 x 1.75-2.12:

I have used slime tubes for about 10 years. When I lived in West Texas and raced cross country I would have never finished a race without these. At that time I would have to replace them about every month, but when I did they would have about 10-20 holes in them from cactus, mesquite trees, and goat heads that had been sealed by the slime.

I still use them here in Colorado and they seal just as well but now last me about 3 to 4 years (less thorns to kill them).

For those who complain about the slime leaking out at the valve this can be an issue. I have found it best if you let the slime drain away from the valve before you air them up. It is best if you store the wheels with the valve at a 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock position and air them up in this position.

Also, if you get slime in the valve it can leak out air slowly. The best solution I found is if this gets bad enough is to remove the valve stem and use a slight amount of water to flush it out or a q-tip or pipe cleaner to remove all the slime and fibers from the internal threads. You should also clean the valve you removed (but don't lose it down the sink or anywhere else). This allow the valve to seat properly again.
