The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Slime Self Healing Presta Tube - 700 x 28-35:
Slime tubes really do work. I have pulled out dozens of goat-heads (spikey plant seeds) from my tires. Most of the time the sealant works by itself. Sometimes I have to spin the wheel to get the slime to fill in the hole. But then I pump up the tube and I am ready to roll again.
However, it is not perfect. And when I do get a puncture that does not self-heal it is extremely hard to patch. The slime gets everywhere and interferes with the glue. So every year or so I have to buy a new tube.
I use them to commute and for mountain biking.

Comments about Slime Self Healing Presta Tube - 700 x 28-35:
Where I live during late summer/fall the bike trails are littered with these spikey plant things. So every fall I spend a bunch of time fixing flat tires. This year my kindergartner wants to ride her bike to school. That would be great except three times last week one or both of us got a flat tire. On Sunday, my first bike ride since getting my bike out of the shop (had a tune up) I got a flat tire two miles into the ride. So I purchased the slime product today and at midnight this evening I fixed my flat. So far so good. Only my tire needed more air so I tried to unscrew the Presta Valve, and the whole valve fell apart and slime squirted all over the place. So now, once again I either have to fix my tire (since the slime inner tube lasted all of 5 minutes) or take it back to the bike shop so that my little girl can enjoy her bike ride....a complete waste of [$] and twenty minutes of my time.

These guys are obviously using Slime tubes with skinny race tires. I commute everyday with Slime and Panaracer T-Serv my last tubes lasted 4200 miles(2 yrs). Combine with Kevlar tires and you have a dependable commuter set up that will get you where you need to go 99% of the time. The only con I have is that the valves corrode sealed over time because you never have to change them. Lycra roadies need to stick to your liteweight tubes and pizza cutters, and just keep on changing flats. Hey it happens, deal with it.

Comments about Slime Self Healing Presta Tube - 700 x 28-35:
When you fill a presta tube with air, you normally have to pop the valve head after you un-screw it. When there is slime in the tube, some of the slime comes out and clogs the valve. After 2-3 fills, the valve is all clogged up and filling becomes a big problem.
Schrader valves are fine, but forget slime with with Presta valves.

I bought these tubes and they split at the seam, failed to heal, and then the stem failed and snapped in two. I've yet to find a tube that doesn't suck, but these tubes suck far beyond reason.

I have purchased three of these tubes and notice no difference between this and regular tubes, both puncture and don't seal. I have switched back to regular tubes and added tube bands. [...]

This will cut down on the number of possible tube punctures, but will not seal all puncture one might get. It has cut down by half the number of times I've had to patch a tube. Regular tube patches will work on this tube, but you have to be sure to clean the green slime off before attempting to patch a hole.
