What an incredible waste. I'm cursing myself for not opening up the packaging in the store or doing my online research beforehand. If you're buying a mosquito net because you don't want to BITTEN BY MOSQUITOS, you should not waste [$] on this cheaply and poorly designed pile of hospital gauze. The entire bottom is one enormous gaping hole. The directions imply that you don't need a mattress to secure the bottom down (ie so mosquitos don't get inside), but that is just completely untrue. The fact is that the design allows for mosquitos to get through the unsecurable bottom part of the net. It needs a zipper. But even if you could secure the bottom, that leaves the problem of the fact that it hangs by only a single, weakly attached eyelet. The ends drape down and you can plan on being bitten on your face, ankles, and feet.If traveling to a place where the risk for malaria is extremely high, I would only purchase this net if you would like to ensure that you do in fact contract the disease.

This is a lightweight, small-pack volume mosquito net. There are nets that work better: such as a larger net (with spreader ring/bars at the top), or a net that includes poles to support itself on the bed/ground, not needing support from the ceiling.
But those also add weight and bulk.
This net is comparable to the Sea to Summit net, which has a floor and a zipper. The floor would be a nice feature if I were using it on the ground in addition to a tarp.
For travel use with beds, the Defender is good, and I don't miss the lack of zipper. This net is about half the weight of the Sea to Summit, and larger at the same time.
The Defender includes a hook that screws into the ceiling, a nail, extra cord, etc, which can help with hanging. Unless the ceiling is concrete, in which case maybe a lot of duct tape will work or a nylon rope strung from two high points elsewhere in the room.
That the net hangs from only one point is good: avoid nets that have multiple hanging points. That is asking for trouble.
Overall, it's a good lightweight choice for travel.

This net is much too small to cover one person adequately, it needs a ring or two or more suspension points at the top to work properly. I unfortunately did not try using it at home before taking it to a mosquito ridden area.

I bought this because it was small, light and seemed easy to set up with only one hanging point. It tucked well underneath a twin mattress for me, but because only the head part is really raised, bugs bit me through any part of the net that was near my body. The net touched my skin near my lower legs and ankles, which is where I would get bitten the most at night. Also I felt really cramped inside.

I bought the netting a year ago for possible overseas travel but decided to deploy it over my bed inside my little cabin just to test it. It has been there ever since. Since I have sporadic outbreaks of stink bugs who love to head for my reading light at night, it's now safe to read without being dive bombed. And, since my attic plays host to a maternal colony of big, brown bats who occasionally wander into the house, I can sleep without keeping one eye open.
