Comments about Granite Gear Mush Dog Booties - Pair:

I bought these for my 10 lb Yorkie/Poodle mix. He's really athletic and loves to walk and run the trails along the Mississippi. We usually do 2-3 miles per day, but the frigid weather is hard on his designer dog feet. They're not the easiest to put on, but they stay on better than cheaper ones we've tried. I bought him two sets of size S, and they fit both back and front feet.

Comments about Granite Gear Mush Dog Booties - Pair:

... because your not stopping with these! ;). Or turning for that matter. Should have realized this since the soles are G3 climbing skin material which is designed to be provide great grip on snow in one direction... and maximum slide in the other. The name Mush is your clue, like posi-traction going forward and bald tires on ice when stopping. Well made and good materials. I'm sure there great in the right application. My mistake for buying them for general use.

Comments about Granite Gear Mush Dog Booties - Pair:

These boots enabled our golden to run in deep snow for prolonged snowshoe hikes without icing her paws once. Put them on tight, because they will come off, especially in deep snow, like a foot or more and in MN we won't find them until July. But we will buy more. The shoes provide great traction in deep snow but don't work on sheer ice like frozen lakes, when covering the claws is counterproductive. Without them, she can't hike in the deep stuff for more than a few minutes without great pain. We may pin yarn to the boots so we don't lose them, like a kid's mitten or powder skis, if the other dogs won't laugh too hard.

Comments about Granite Gear Mush Dog Booties - Pair:

Booties have two problems. They do not stay on because the single velcro stap is too short to secure the boot. Also the seams are not taped on the inside of the boot and are therefore very abrasive to the dog's feet.

Comments about Granite Gear Mush Dog Booties - Pair:

I put these on my dogs front paws as a test and he couldn't quite make it out our driveway (200 feet) without slipping all over the place on hardpacked snow. The ski skin idea is nice but it doesn't stop the dog from sliding forward and sideways.
They seem well designed and may work well on powder or dry ground.

Comments about Granite Gear Mush Dog Booties - Pair:

These run smaller than the Ruffwear dog boots. They have a snug fit, and do not appear to irritate the dogs' paws. We walk 4-5 miles a day in MN winters and the boots have worn well and stay in place. I use them on a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd.
