Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
Good priced stove. Heats what needs to be heated. Not the lightest stove so generally for car camping, etc. The temperature control is not the best. Getting that low heat sometimes kills the flame.

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
Just back from 6 weeks using this stove in Honduras. We could easily find the propane tanks there and tho sis one reason we use this stove. The stove was on mules and carried by porters on 4 different field expeditions. Great for cooking for the 6-13 expedition members. Boils fast with using a lid! Only complaint was that the tanks can't be refilled or reused. However we found that locals wanted to drill out the top and make kerosine candles from them! We may switch to the multi fuel version so we can use white gas and gasoline. The stove, when properly set up, was very stable and the open lid was good to set utensils and other items. Worked perfect the entire 6 weeks. Now stored in Honduras four next expedition!

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
I purchased this for emergencies although I have others that are much better. The volcano stove for example.
The stove is made well enough, with the exception that the attachment which is brass for the fuel delivery system is screw type, with a thread which makes for difficult positive connection.
Long ago should Coleman have coverted this to a sliding male / female connection for ease of use.
The down side to this stove is the throw away one pound bottles, which are cheap enough, but add significantly to the lifetime carbon footprint of the owner / user of this product.
To eliminate this, one has to purchase a cylander, a converter fitting, and a hose to connect to the stove.
This makes for a cumbersome extraviganza, requiring two camels and a trained elephant, to carry all the implements; which have nothing to do with enjoyment.
Aside from the implements, and the appended to problems, the device is good to go for the most part.
It's silly of Coleman not to upgrade the product, and even sillier for REI not to insist upon it. Since this model is a specific design for REI.
I do my research, and called Coleman seeking the facts and salient information.
You can depend upon the reliability of the product, it's not the first I've owned made by Coleman. They all work to varying degrees of satisfaction.
Good luck with it. It's quiet and efficient enough to get done what you need to get done!!

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
Everyone who has gone camping has owned a two burner Coleman burner. It's a simple design that never goes out of style. It always works. For car camping, it doesn't get any easier.

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
This coleman 2 burner stove has been a very good stove for a 4 person family. The burner is great for temperature control and wind screens are awesome at keeping down the wind and controlling the heat. Sometimes its hard to light with a short lighter or small match because of the grate though. I would highly recommend this stove for a recreational family. However, at higher altitude the dual fuel 2 burner would be a better choice because it will run better and hotter at altitude. The only draw back with this stove is the propane fuel canister often gets very cold and it starts to sputter a bit until it warms up.

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
Having gone through 2 of these now (returned both), I am convinced that these stoves, which have been great work-horses in the past, are now just cheap and poorly manufactured junk. The newer built stoves essentially burn at one setting (High). If you attempt to turn the burner down to a simmer, it just pops back up to high. Certainly, this is fine for boiling water , but if you want to do any other type of cooking, good luck. You will need to attend to your cooking continuously unless you like burnt everything.
So after returning my first stove, I got a new replacement which exhibited the same behavior. I have friends with the same stove only a few years older without this problems. I contacted Coleman and they said it was likely a regulator problem. So they sent me a free replacement regulator. Well, after swapping regulators, there was still same issue.
If you can find a used one of these that is a few years old and likely not problematic with temp control, that is probably your best bet. Otherwise, I would not recommend this.

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
We were tired of dealing with liquid fuel, pumping the pump, etc. We opted for Coleman because we find Coleman fuel cylinders EVERYWHERE! We also bot the 6 ft. hose that allows use of our bulk (barbecue) tank. This is our emergency stove for when the earthquake finally strikes and we're without electricity and gas for weeks and weeks. We're ready. Are you? Our Soto micro stove heated water faster and had better simmering heat control. The burners on this stove are larger and more suitable for wider pots and pans. Low-temp heat control is not the best and they make a significant amount of noise. Not as much as a Coleman gas lantern, but a lot. Easy to clean so far. Relatively lightweight.

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
We used this stove over a 3 day car camping trip. We used one bottle of fuel, but it never ran out. While it is a little bigger and heavier than some models like the Jet Boil, it is perfect for car camping. We cooked steak, chicken breast, eggs, and boiled water on this stove with ease. I would definitely recommend it.

Comments about Coleman 2-Burner Stove:
This stove works very well and is convenient to use. Although it doesn't have an igniter, it is no problem to light it with a butane lighter like those that are used for lighting gas grills. I recommend that you get a Coleman carrying case for it. The case will protect the stove and make it easy to transport, and it also has storage pockets for two fuel canisters.
