The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Planet Bike Flipper Rear Fender - 80mm:
This is my second one of these fenders. I have a full suspension so getting this adjusted to where the tire won't hit takes a little work but its a great fender.

Comments about Planet Bike Flipper Rear Fender - 80mm:
It works. Beware that you have to really tighten down the strap to prevent significant side-to-side movement while riding. I thought about putting the rough side of velcro around my seatpost so that the fabric strap has something to grab onto to keep it in place. If course the looseness means that when you do crash, the flipper will move rather than breaking, which might be a good thing.

Comments about Planet Bike Flipper Rear Fender - 80mm:
I commute 6 miles each way to work and back home in the rain. These work fairly well and are much better than having no fenders at all. However, the clamp strap must be very tight otherwise the fender will swing out from the tire and provide you no protection. As long as it's tight it works great. Also, I think these should be designed a couple inches longer. I have 700s and these fenders are slightly too short to provide adequate protection. I still get a little dirt on my back. Will be buying full coverage rims soon instead. These would probably be great on 26 inch tires.

Comments about Planet Bike Flipper Rear Fender - 80mm:
I bought this fender for a 4-mile commute each way in D.C. It lasted for several months, but then the adjustment teeth that hold the fender in place failed and it was done for. This after no impacts or stressful use whatsoever. The fender also tends to sag and move out of place unless you get the strap around the post to the absolute perfect tightness (trial and error).
I haven't tried any other fenders yet, but there must be a better product out there than this.

Comments about Planet Bike Flipper Rear Fender - 80mm:
Used these on two of my bikes for 2 years with no problems. I did find one on the bike trail that fell off another bike so now I have 3 of them. I do not know if that last sentence is a plus of minus for this product or a reflection on the user not putting it on tight enough.

I used this fender around 10 times on the road before it broke. I also had a the front which also broke. Took back to [...] bought next step up fenders... much better and higher quality.
