The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

No more sore wrists or numb hands!
These are the best, I wish I had tried them years ago.

Comments about Ergon GP1 Grips - Large:
I'm a casual mountain biker, and often experience numbness in my hands due to gripping too hard. I bought these in hopes that they would force me to not white-knuckle the handlebars, and have definitely noticed improvement. They offer good grip and control, and don't slide around or loosen at all. I've been using them 5 days a week for about 2 months now with no issues.

WOW! These are the best flat bar grips I have ever used in 25+ years of cycling!
Your hands will feel so good that you won't want to let go of the bar. They cushion the road vibrations, allow for a firm grip, and control. They also make it easier to stand up on the bike.
Not to mention--they look great on my old bike!
Wish that they made them years ago--my rides would have been more enjoyable.
Great reasonable priced gift too for anyone that has a flat bar bike.
This product is a, "no-brainer."

I already have a pair of these on my old mountain bike, so I know they're great. I tried the version with the small bar ends, but they were very unsatisfactory, so I went back to the standard version and added full size bar ends.

I've been riding for about 20 years and have tried many many different grips trying to find one that worked for me on a flatbar bike. These are the best ones that I've found so far. They have proved quite comfortable with only mild numbness after longer rides (25-60 miles). Thanks to the fixing bolt, they have always stayed put. My first pair lasted me around 10,000 miles before they were well worn and somewhat sticky from the worn down rubber. I've also used these on my mountain bike, and while they don't let me grip my bars quite as well as normal grips, they work well enough that I've done some pretty fast/steep/rough riding with confidence (~30mph downhill, washboard dirt roads, jumps).

I added these to my Novara Safari's butterfly bars and they are extremely comfortable on long rides. Plus, I put them on my wife's Surly Long Haul Trucker with butterfly bars. She was having numbing in her hands and sore wrists before we put them on, but now she has no complaints. We both love the product and recommend them to anyone using a straight bar or, in our case, the rare-to-find butterfly expedition bar.

Comments about Ergon GP1 Grips - Large:
I have used several aftermarket grips over the years (and gel gloves) and these are the best I have found. I was getting numbness in my thumb and first two fingers. With these, the numbness is gone or begins much later in the ride and they are noticeably more comfortable. I have only used them for easy trail riding and cruising so far, but anticipate no problems with the moderate to advanced trail riding I sometimes do.These were very easy to install since you don't have to force them on/off against friction like typical grips. The clamps hold well and are easy to adjust. It is helpful to experiment with a few different angles at first. There are quite a few options in ergo grips at REI including a version of this with bar-ends built in. I like these over the bar-end version because these are lighter and they are comfortable enough that I am not seeking different hand positions that bar-ends offer (also the standard grip position is more comfortable than the bar-end grip). The only problem I had is that the one I bought was missing one of the bolts. It probably fell out or was taken out while on display on the sales floor. The packaging is odd with one grip concealed inside the sealed box and one on the outside for testing the feel. I noticed that the outside grip had no bolt, but I assumed that there would be two bolts concealed inside the box. There was only one in there. It takes a fairly common metric sized bolt like those that hold water bottle cages and I had little trouble finding a replacement at [@] and later found some among my extra bike hardware.

I was looking for a new pair of grips and due to frequent hand numbness I looked into these. I put them on my Rockhoppr hard tail to ride to work and around town. The moment I felt them in the store, I was sold, on the bike they are even better! Install was a breeze, I wanted to keep my bar ends, after talking to the bike dept. at REI, he assured me they would work, and they did!

I'm 56 and have had trouble with hand numbness on the mountain bike I have set up with 1-1/2 inch road tires. I use the bike for utility and country road touring. (My road bike with drop bars is comfortable, no numbness.) These grips solved the problem after a few test rides with them rotated to different angles. I can't comment on durability after only a couple of weeks. They also support your wrists so instead of having them fold backward or holding them straight with muscle effort your arms are more relaxed. They slide right on the bars and tighten securely and easily. With a hex wrench in a pocket you can easily adjust their position during a ride. What a relief. Thanks, Ergon!
