The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stroganoff with Noodles Pro-Pak - 2 Servings:
This is one of the few MH meals I can eat on extended backpacking trips without getting sick of it. Before I leave I open the packaging and break it down into two separate meals*, which I store in ziplock freezer bags. When ready to consume I just add boiling water and place inside a cozy until it's ready to eat. The servings divvy up well and the food travels just fine in the plastic baggies, which reduce a lot of unnecessary packaging and extra bulk. This is a tasty, creamy meal that reconstitutes well.
*I don't have a big appetite so half this package, or "one serving," is plenty for me.

This is a great meal! I just used it for the first time, and ill grab this meal for every backpacking trip from here on out. Flavorful and filling! And it's super lightweight in my pack! Definitely recommend this meal!

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stroganoff with Noodles Pro-Pak - 2 Servings:
This was one of the higher rated meals that REI had so I figured I would give it a try. It is very easy to make and it doesn't take too long to cook.
I'm not the biggest fan of mushrooms, however, and this had plenty of them. It wasn't enough to make it inedible for me, but I'll definitely look to try other flavors next time.

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stroganoff with Noodles Pro-Pak - 2 Servings:
Stroganoff isnt really the most flavorfull food anyway and after a long hike I want something with more taste. However, it does taste like stroganoff and hydrates well so if you like the dish normally then go for it.

This is the ultimate solo hiker food after a long hike.
I usually hike solo, don't have any friends that like to go as far and sacrifice comforts to go the distance, 15-25 miles. This is a great solo food to end the day with a quick hot meal, and some chamomile tea. Carbs, calories, and protein help with recovery.
I hike solo at least 2 times a month in national forests on weekends. I want to put as many miles into each day as I can, and I don't want to spend a lot of time cooking. I want to set up camp, build a small fire, and relax. This food pack is great for me. Let's me get the miles in. Boil some water. Dump it in, wait a few minutes, and eat.
Don't have to dirty a bowl, eat out of the food pack. Saves space because it's vacuum sealed. Tastes great, the beef stroganoff is the best Mountain House makes.
Biggest drawback is the price. Cost the same or more than a McDonald's meal. Not bad for a weekend hiker, but costly for extended hikes.

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stroganoff with Noodles Pro-Pak - 2 Servings:
When I made this, I in no way compensated for how much water the noodles soak up... This makes a big meal, and, had I not needed the energy for the following day, I would have split it between my friend and I. The sauce is very rich, and fills you up very fast (I found it hard to finish by myself), which made it perfect for ultralight-backpacking. The only real complaint that I have is that the onions did not seem to fully re-hydrate (despite allowing the bag to be left for a good 5-10 minutes longer than the recommended cooking time), leaving crunchy bits here and there. Otherwise, it's great!

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stroganoff with Noodles Pro-Pak - 2 Servings:
Great taste for a freeze-dried meal, as usual with Mountain House. The Pro-Pak single serving size is just about right: enough to fill you up and no waste.
I suggest letting it sit a few extra minutes at higher altitudes (10,000 ft plus), maybe even keeping it in a cozy to be sure it stays hot and the beef gets soft.
The vacuum packaging saves on volume, but be aware that it appears more susceptible to mouse damage. Apparently the sharp corners and edges of the vacuum pack are easier for mice to get a bite in. When I forgot to put the lid on my home storage box, mice passed over the traditional packaging and went for the Pro-Paks. You'll always want to hang or otherwise protect your food, but in heavily-used campsites (e.g., one camp on my Grand Canyon hike last week), you'll find they can get into your Pro Paks in just a couple of minutes while you are getting your stove ready.

Comments about Mountain House Beef Stroganoff with Noodles Pro-Pak - 2 Servings:
Even though the pro pack is more compact, for longer trips, I break down the food into zip-lock bags. When you have 8 or more meals that are needed the weight of the packing really adds up. Otherwise great tasting and very easy to cook. Sometimes the food is not fully cooked even when allowing the allotted time to pass. There is a great selection of meals and they all have a good amount of calories to them.
