          Great Paddle for the Price!I use this paddle for river canoing in some fairly rocky conditions so wood is not the most economical choice for me.works great! Tough as nails!If I loose it I'm not out 80-120 bucks.My young son can also grip the small shaft on this paddle.We have put these paddles through hell! We wedge them in rocks for climbing our favorite lunch rock.Always cary a spare! my buddy forgot his and my spare made his weekend:)

          I needed to replace the fiberglass used paddle that came with the canoe; it had cracked under the shaft insertion in the blade. I needed to get a decent, reliable paddle pretty quickly.
          My friend and I did a 50 mile canoe trip on Ross Lake where we encountered some very difficult wind and wave filled days. I was pulling hard against a stiff wind that flattened wave tops. This paddle performed very well in the difficult weather conditions. I am not an overly experienced paddler, and I felt very confident in this paddle.
          While I would like to get a lighter/bent paddle, this was a wonderful choice for a replacement, and will make an excellent backup paddle on future big trips. I would buy this paddle all over again.
          The main negatives about this paddle is the plastic did ding, and it is a bit heavy. But for the price, it was a terrific option.

            Last summer, when the river was down/low volume, I had to do lots of out of boat stuff to get our canoe off the rocks on the Hiwassee in East TN. I used the paddle to pole with, to brace my body on the rocks, as a walking staff in rapids, etc. NOTE: dont try to do this, or think its a wise thing to do, I just didnt have many other options at the time. At any rate, this paddle was amazing.

            If your looking for a paddle you can throw around and not worry about, this is it. Not the best and not the worst. For the money it is a really nice paddle. I would buy again if needed but they look like they are going to last a long time.

            I own four of these. Granted, there's lighter and higher performance paddles out there, but for the price, you can't get better. The shaft can get a little uncomfortable after a few hours, but c'mon, [$]!
