        I just ordered these and will return them and maybe try the men's sizes.
        The women's size medium has a 31 inch inseam. The waist is high and the elastic is tight.
        I am 5'5" 145 pounds, long in the back and stout in the legs, inseam 29 inches; not the least bit shaped like a model! These barely fit but I need them roomy enough to layer and still be able to sit in a canoe or kayak.
        I hope the next pair fit, even if I have to shorten then myself, because the material and lining are wonderful.
        I bought the women's Voss jacket in a medium and that is very roomy and comfortable while it fits very well, so there seems to be a sizing difference between pants and jackets.

          I brought these rain pants up on a mountain in the rainforest of Alaska for three months of trail work. I wore them literally every day over my regular work pants and they survived the most extreme of conditions; bushwhacking through prickly devil's club and blueberry bushes, sloppy mudpits, climbing/crawling over trees and branches, and days and days of constant rain. The pants never got a single tear and they kept me dry through the whole summer. Out of a crew of 13 people and 13 different kinds of raingear, these were the only pair of pants to do their job and hold up all summer. The only drawback to the pants is the nature of the waterproof PVC construction-they aren't breatheable. For this reason I wouldn't recommend the pants for really strenuous hikes as you will find yourself roasting in them. Other than that, I cannot say enough positive things about Helly Hansen rain gear. I put these pants through hell this summer, and after a quick run through the washer they still come out looking as new as the day I bought them.

            The pants kept me completely waterproof and mudproof. I'm 5'4 and the small fit pretty well. The length was perfect and it fit well over my hiking boots. The pants are high waisted and the waistband was a bit tight. I think the small was made for a 24 inch waist. The pants were a lifesaver in pouring rain, but if you are hiking in them you may get steamy hot.
