The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Spiroll Rope Protector:
The Spiroll seems to work better for covering rigid objects than for practical rope protection. Despite the easy-to-place description, it's a little awkward to attach to the rope. It takes both hands and some patience, which is not ideal for placing or adjusting while hanging on rope.
Once attached, it will stay firmly in place IF the rope is fairly straight and not moving sideways against a friction point. But if the rope is bent around an edge like the product photo suggests, the Spiroll tends to bulge and not stay wrapped tightly around the rope. With enough lateral movement against friction points, it can even open and expose the rope.
For serious use such as edge protection for rappelling, caving or rescue, I recommend considering a regular flat rope pad or wrap-around rope protector with Velcro.

Comments about Spiroll Rope Protector:
I use this for rappelling, and it is ok. The only problem is that if the rope moves just a foot side-to-side, that is enough to unroll the protector from around the rope.

Comments about Spiroll Rope Protector:
This is a great piece of gear that protects the anchors that protect me on top rope. And sure its [$], but for that you get something that is a lot more robust and easier to use then tube webbing or old carpet.

Comments about Spiroll Rope Protector:
The Spirol Rope Protector is a simple and inexpensive way to help increase the lifespan of your climbing rope. It easily fits over a climbing rope and can be placed near and anchor point to prevent unnecessary rope wear. You no longer have to use a piece of carpet to prevent rope wear. It is great that such a product exists because it not only helps to increase the lifespan of your rope, but also saves you money!! I would recommend this product is for all outdoor climbers and rappelers. For [$], you cannot beat it!!
