The retro-reflective thread works well provided your illumination source is more or less in-line with your eyes (e.g. a headlamp), though I believe this limitation is pretty typical of these materials. The phosphorescent glow is undeniably cool: even a short exposure to high-intensity LED illumination will cause the line to glow for several minutes, easily visible in the dark. Presumably an hour or more of direct sunlight would yield a nice long-lasting glow. It would be great to see this feature in other line/cord products.

But...don't buy this line expecting paracord. Beyond guylines, my initial thought was to use this line to make lanyards for items I might need to easily find in the dark. Unfortunately, the line is perhaps a bit too stiff for this application...it doesn't drape particularly well or tie neatly the way paracord does. The line does have a fairly thick core which can be removed if you want a little more flexibility, but it's still not quite as supple as you might expect. The line is also quite a bit thicker than Kelty Triptease reflective line, so may be less well-suited for use marking small items like zipper pulls.

Overall, a nice product, but you may want to check out a small length for your application before investing in 50 feet.

overall is good, but it only grow for few minutes after exposure in high power flashlight.
Kelty Triptease Guyline does reflective better then this and lighter weight then this.

Glow-in-the-dark cord is awesome for use with your tents rainfly lines. Also good for use as lanyards, and zipper pull cords. Strong, all-around great line.
