When weight's a determining factor, pack these crampons along. They'll shave ounces off your alpine pack.

    • Extremely strong, lightweight alloy construction keeps the weight to a single pound for the pair
    • Ideal for ski touring, ski mountaineering and classic alpine mountaineering routes
    • Heel and toe harness pieces accommodate a wide variety of footwear; single webbing strap secures crampon in place
    • Low-profile crampon frame places the foot closer to rock or ice
    • Flexible connecting rod allows the foot free movement without over-stressing the crampon
    • Latex Antibott (included) sheets prevent snow build-up beneath the crampons
    • Tool-free adjustment; fits U.S. sizes from 4 - 12

Comments about Grivel Air Tech Light Crampon with Antibott Device & Flex Bars:

After one season of intensive use I can confidently recommend these for moderate mixed glacier-rock climb. Stability is excellent up to 30 degrees and good for another 20: I even pushed them once on a four pitches 50 degrees icy slope and despite being relatively short the front points held remarkably well. Grip is very good on anything but water ice. The aluminum teeth has good grip on rock too - or at least on the rather soft volcanic rock - but it does wear down visibly on mixed terrain: two Rainier and two Baker climbs later and it needed some sharpening.
If you don't envision anything too technical, the versatility and light weight make these the optimal choice.

Comments about Grivel Air Tech Light Crampon with Antibott Device & Flex Bars:

i just recently bought a pair of these this year with the intention of getting some good use out of them come summer and spring. first impression was "WOW, these ARE light" less than a pound a pair doesn't seem like much until you pick up a pair. especially if you have the oppertunity to grab a steal pair at the same time. i have not yet got to use these in the conditions i intended for, although, i did get a chance to strap them on my snowboarding boots (quite impressed that they fit on the big bulky boots, size 9 burton boots, and i could have got them on a size 10 just fine) i was supprised how stable these are considering the non-step in style. i had some soft snow to firm packed snow to try them out on for a little bit. they worked great on that stuff. but not really a tru test. after about 30min of playing/working in the snow, they were still firmly attached to my boots without needing to be readjusted. cant wait to really test them out on the mountains this spring/summer. my only note to make is that if you are bigger than a size 12, don't be supprsied that you'll need the longer extensions. and i must add to the others who throw a fit about having to buy them, c'mon guys, when the brand says size 6-12, don't be supprised when certain 12's are too big. if you know the world of boots and crampons, this should be no shock at all. for those who are about to buy some of these. yea, you're gunna have some fun! enjoy!

These are great crampons as long as you are not ever walking on rocks in the snow. I have broken teeth off of mine so I switched to steel even though these are much lighter.

Love em, lightweight, have used them in scree and dirt between snow fields and glacier, still not showing too much wear. Super light, no issues with getting a solid purchase in ice, strap stays put. Easy to clean.

Comments about Grivel Air Tech Light Crampon with Antibott Device & Flex Bars:

I just replaced my old bail type G10s w/ an otherwise identical pair of universal G12 Air Techs. See photo. The G12 is a great product as expected, but the bar came up short. Next, I learned that I have to spend another $20 on a "new" long flex bar. It should be available in a month or two. :( Both crampons are sized to 46. My boot is 46 1/3 (US size 12). Hmm... My not so new G10s came w/ a flex bar that was long enough to fit my largest boots - even my Randonee boots! If you have normal+ sized feet and plan on using these on multiple boots - be sure to add another $20 to your budget. I still have the original G10 box w/ price tag: [$] It's the same light weight crampon, for a not so light price.
