I like the jacket very much, the fit is a bit big, the material is very light so for cycling it really flaps, and the ventilation is not great for warmer days all that said I really like this jacket.

I like the fact that the ventilation is limited letting this be a jacket for cooler days while also able to remove arms.

Bought this at the store on sale without looking at reviews, regret that.

Advertises that it is water resistant. This is true, for about 3 minutes. Not in a deluge, but just in a misting rain it soaked through that fast. You can get water proof spray and treat it. This does extend the time being dry, but not totally.

The zipper CONSTANTLY puckers. You can't use just one hand to zip this up in the front. I've even had to use a screw-driver to spread the zipper to get it loose. Same with the sleeves.

Too restrictive in the shoulders for casual wear. If your shoulders are wide, don't bother.

The main zipper on this jacket is the pits! Its not just when riding a bike that it is a problem. With both feet on the ground and using both hands, the zipper can become jammed and impossible to operate. Avoid this jacket!

Being a frequent bike commuter, I received this jacket from my wife. At first I was concerned about its light weight and snug fit, and considered replacing it. A few rides convinced me otherwise. For such a light jacket, it does a remarkable job against the wind, and its light weight actually helps from getting overheated. It has plenty of pockets including a large internal pocket, and as others have noted it folds up nice and small. The sleeves are also long enough for me, which is frequently an issue (I'm 6'5"). It has the added benefit of converting to a vest, which is great for improved visibility, since it's day-glo orange with reflective seams. I love it.

I bought this Jacket to make myself more visible on the road. I normally wear it without the sleeves. I wear the sleeves in relatively cold weather. The weather doesn't get too cold here in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. The double zipper adds to its flexibility.

I can't speak in regard to rain protection as I do not ride in the rain.

About a year ago, I took a bad spill, and while it got a little ripped, I still wear it today. I do plan on getting a replacement.

After using this very briefly, I was disappointed on several counts and I "traded up" to the Pearl Izumi Vagabond. I bike to work every morning in Boise - typical morning temps in the spring are high 30's / low 40's and I wear the jacket usually with just a long-sleeve t-shirt or light base layer underneath the jacket.

The Canari fell short in a few areas:
- The material wasn't very water resistant. It easily soaked through
- When I bought it I knew it didn't have the front chest pocket, but I really missed it.
I feel this pocket is essential for biking.
- The sleeves ran long and bunched up pretty bad around my arms, restricting ventilation

Pros on the canari - bright color and it rolls up real small to fit into your pack.

Although the Vagabond is a bit higher price point, I am very happy I traded up - the material repels water better and it is just a tad thicker, making it more wind resistant.

I bike to work and around town on a daily basis. The jacket serves as a wind breaker and safety garment. The color gets attention quickly and from great distance. In moderate to cool weather, I wear it over street clothes or bike jerseys as a vest. In cool to cold weather, I use it as a jacket. Unfortunately, the sleeves seem to hold heat - the cuffs are close fitting and there's no ventilation. Arm zips allow some torso ventilation, but no real cooling of the arms. Rain seeps through the fabric very quickly leaving the jacket fabric clinging to arms and shoulders. I'll look for something else as a decent rain jacket and shell.

My spouse purchased this jacket for me to use in my daily commuting to work, which I do via bike. I was really excited about the jacket. It has good pockets on the side, a rear pouch, reflective piping, and extra material to cover your rear. All was great. But in use, the front zipper gets stuck in the extra fabric underneath used for a windblock. That's not so handy when you're biking...

I commute everyday and everyday I wear this jacket. It does a great job as a windbreaker and has excellent visibility. It also has good pockets on both sides and also a large pocket in the back. The jacket also compressed to a nice small ball if you want to take it off quickly.

The major problem with this jacket is that it does not keep out the rain at all. Expect to get wet if you wear this in the rain. It seems to soak up water much quicker than other jackets I've used. The saving grace is that it dries out very quickly.
