Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I purchased a pair in 1986. The traction had just worn off, that is 26 years of use. I would wear them with my trench coat to work, and get comments all the time as to where did you get those boots? Great boot for sking and snowmobiling.
Little disappointed as size has change since the boot is no longer manufactured in Canada. This pair is difficut to get on and off. I wear a 7.5 and ordered up to an 8. Toes are good, but liner comes out every time I take my foot out.
Once you go Sorel you will never go back to a different brand. Warmest boot around.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I hesitated because this isnt the most stylish boot available, but when I saw them on sale I had to try them. The boot is incredibly, amazingly comfortable. I have narrow feet that are always cold. My feet stayed warm in 21F weather and I was amazed at how well the boot gently hugged my feet - no slippage and I disnt feel like I was wearing big boots - no pressure points or hotspots. The liner tends to come out when I pull my foot out but that's a minor issue. I love these boots and highly recommend them if you want practical, functional, waterproof AND comfortable.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I was looking for a boot to go to Alaska with that could withstand -20F temps dog sledding, snow shoeing, or just standing around at night. I ended up returning these shoes in exchange for a much bulkier boot that seemed like it would be much warmer, though more clunky and not as appeasing to the eyes. But if I chose style over functionality, I felt I'd regret it in the long run. I'm glad I made the choice, I don't think these boots would have held up in those temperatures when my feet aren't constantly moving.
Service and delivery comments:
The product arrived in the alotted time and in good condition. They were easy to return at my local REI.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I've had these boots for over 20 years now and they still look like new, funny that they're stylish today. I pull these out in the worst snow conditions and feel like a little bulldozer plowing through the drifts. Warm, comfy, cute with skinny pants/leggings, must have in MN winters!

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I'm originally from New Mexico and my feet are often cold, but with these boots... my feet stayed dry and warm through -15 degree weather in Minnesota. They are a bit heavy but worth the sacrifice.

Couldn't stand these boots. Received them as a gift and while they may have kept my feet warm and dry, they are HEAVY and bulky, making walking uncomfortable for my daily commute. Still searching for the perfect winter boot...

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I bought these boots specifically because I moved to a very cold climate unlike anywhere I'd lived before. I loved them! For about two months.
I bought them mid-November and wore them daily in non-extreme conditions (just to and from work). No hard wear at all. But this morning, in mid January, I noticed that the rubber casing around the toes has started crack - it's torn open a big hole on one and there are cracks in the same place on the other. The rubber itself is thin and flimsy and, apparently, brittle. I'm incredibly disappointed in the workmanship and have serious doubts about continuing to buy from Sorel. If this is a defect in a single pair, fine, that's understandable if incredibly inconvenient, but if I find out it's a problem with the entire line (which I have some reason to believe after talking to other residents of this city), I will be seriously cheesed off.
They are beautiful, comfortable, and, in some ways if not in others, sturdy boots, but they are no good to me if they tear apart under normal wear conditions.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
Don't buy!! I have used Sorel Caribou boot in our snowmobile rental business for over 25 years and have been very impressed with the warmth and durability of the boot. I buy about 50 to 100 new pairs of boot every year. However, a few years back Columbia took ownership of sorels. In the past 4-5 years the boots has been substandard and unusable. Almost every pair of boots we have bought in the past 4-5 years the rubber has cracked (sometimes the cracks are over 2" long) on the sides of the front half of the boot causing the boot to leak; which of course makes your foot wet and cold. The first year this happened I wrote Columbia and sent 20 pair of boots back. They sent me 1 replacement boot. They have not fixed the problem because the same thing has happened with the entire boot purchases I have made from them in the past two years, Stupid me for continuing to buy them. I threw away 100 boot that were only used 3-6 months this December and daily I am throwing away more. This year I bought a similar boot, manufactured by a different company, which is warmer, but until next year I won't know how well they hold up. Save yourself some time and money try a different manufacturer.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I don't know about -40 conditions, but they keep your toes toasty to -20 easily even if you're sitting or standing still. They're also waterproof, slip-proof for most conditions and damp weather hardy. The fleecy cuff at the top prevents melting snow from dripping into the boot. I keep them laced loose and slip them on for everyday living in Anchorage. The lacing all the way up the boot is great for a variety of calf sizes, and they keep you dry through most snow depths.
They do run small, especially if you want space for air around the toe box, crucial for keeping you warm, or want to be able to fit thicker socks. I also wouldn't recommend them for snow shoeing, the sole is big and bulky (part of what makes the traction amazing) which makes getting in and out of snow shoes a challenge.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Winter Boots - Women's:
I travel around the tundra in Western Alaska for my job. I and several coworkers bought these boots since they were rated -40F. These boots do not keep my feet warm in conditions anywhere close to -40, even when active and certainly not when in an airplane or on the back of a snow machine.
When layering extra socks to try and keep my feet warm it becomes difficult to get these boots on and off.
They do have good traction for walking around on the river, etc.
