Comments about Bending Branches Sun Shadow 14 Bent Shaft Paddle:
I have used my Sun Shadow for two seasons now. I use it primarily on flat water, but I have used it in class II rivers as well. This is an awesome paddle that affords excellent control and comfort. Initially I was afraid to use it around rocks since it looks so awesome and I feared scratching it. I discovered that the wear strip at the bottom holds up fine and it still looks new after 40 trips.

Everything about this paddle is awesome. I used this for an extended trip in the Boundary Waters and could tell the difference it made.

Comments about Bending Branches Sun Shadow 14 Bent Shaft Paddle:
My dad has had one of these paddles for a few years now, and I finally got one for myself last summer. My paddling ranges from quick jaunts out on a lake to go fishing to week-long tours in places like Quetico/BWCA and the St. Croix/Namekagon, and while I really wanted it for the latter, it is of course great for the little stuff too. The oval-shaped shaft feels a little odd at first if you're used to a circular one, but is more comfortable over the long haul, and the palm grip is remarkably natural feeling. The partial-wrap tip guard covers just the right amount of the edge, over all the critical areas that commonly get beat up. BB makes great stuff all around, so if you're looking for a flat blade or different price point their other products are also a good bet.

Comments about Bending Branches Sun Shadow 14 Bent Shaft Paddle:
Have used this paddle for several wilderness canoe trips - Quetico, Killarny, Adirondacks - as well as local leisure canoeing. I find my strokes are more efficient than with a standard paddle, so not the usual fatique after long hours of paddling. Not to mention it's a beautiful paddle. Very happy with my decision to try a bent shaft.
