Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Tire - 700 x 28 / 32 / 35 / 38:
Been riding on an earlier version of this tire for two years, a little different tread pattern. No flats. Rubber may be a little heavy. 32 width is a fast tire, rolls easily. Only wish they had a reflective sidewall. They don't show wear.

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Tire - 700 x 28 / 32 / 35 / 38:
I have only used the tire for a few months at this point, but I have had no issues with my commute. It handles well in the rain and so far has been resistant to punctures (the road here has quite a bit of debris, my previous tire would flat about once a month).
Other commenters noted the difficulty in seating the bead when changing tires, this was not an issue with a metal tire lever.

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Tire - 700 x 28 / 32 / 35 / 38:
My pair has given me about 2000 miles, but the rear one needed to be replaced due to a nearly vanished tread and deteriorating sidewalls. They handled every road and bike path I've ridden them on, including crushed limestone and loosely packed dirt roads. I do weigh 185 lbs and usually have at least a couple pounds loaded on my rear rack, which may explain why my front tire shows far less wear than my rear.

I had a hard time putting the tire on the rim like if it was even a bit smaller

I bought a Kevlar bead Vittoria tire last year -- went on my rear Velocity Dyad touring rim beautifully and has held up nicely so far. This wire bead tire looked good, but getting it on my front Mavic rim was more like an MMA event than a tire change, which makes the tire totally impractical for the urban cycling I do daily (where occasional flats are a fact of life no matter how much protection and inflation one employs). I had nowhere near the difficulty with other brands of tire and will be returning this one. With a narrower rim, it might be a sweet tire; I'll never know.

I just installed these tires. They were a bit difficult (very tight!) to install, but once on they have been great. Excellent rolling, I gained about 2 miles per hours at the same pace I always use. You've got to be careful though as they are directional so mark your rims with rolling direction. While they weigh a bit more than others I expect they will not be prone to flats! Just in case though I installed liners just to be sure. I would recommend them to others. Good price and REI shipped from another location to me free! Can't beat their customer service!

These tires (700x35) came stock on my 2009 Novara Randonee. They are the toughest tires I have ever used. Over 3,000 miles of year-round commuting on urban & suburban streets with only one flat (caused by an industrial staple; I patched the tube and am still using the tire).
The tires show virtually no wear after two years of hard use. They are not light but they sure are durable. I can't comment on how easy they are to mount because I've only taken the tire off one time.
These are fantastic, worry-free commuter tires. I would buy them again without a second thought. No complaints.

Comments about Vittoria Randonneur Cross Tire - 700 x 28 / 32 / 35 / 38:
Had these tires on my main bike for about 3 seasons of daily use commuting to work and school and doing errands, going across town, etc., before the tread wore out. That seems really fast to me, which is one negative. I got them because it seemed like their knobbier tread would be capable of handling snow and rain, which they did okay at, but I'd recommend something even knobbier and wider for winter use.
Other reviewers are claiming low rolling resistance, but I find their ride to be sluggish and draggy relative to the Zaffiros I had before and the Pasela Tourguards I have now, but those have pretty minimal tread relative to these.
The big downside to these tires is the bead is way too rigid. I broke literally 5 of the Pedro's tire levers trying to uninstall and reinstall them on a Mavic Open Pro (also tried them on some older Mavic ma40 rims with the same problem). And the time and effort it took to get them on and off every time was really frustrating. This crazy bead seems to be a "feature" of all the Vittoria tires, but the more so with these.
On the upside, I haven't flatted on them more than once in their short lifespan. But for my money, I'm sticking with Paselas, which go on easier, feel better under me, and have just as solid puncture resistance.

Wow, it was really, really difficult to install these tires. I broke 3 plastic & steel levers in the process of installing the 2 new tires today, and bled extensively from my hands and knuckles.
My wife noted repeatedly that I would be really screwed if I got a roadside flat. Then she laughed at me. These tires should come with levers designed to accommodate the forces associated with their installation.

I ride 112 miles per week to and from work. I ride on the shoulder of the road and I will always find debris,,i.e Glass, sand and grit. I am about to purchase my third set since Christmas of 2008. I ride in the snow, rain, and wind as I am from New England. It is a great tire for wet roads since it channels the water out. I have good grip on snow plowed roads. I have only gotten one puncture and it was from a nail in a construction zone,,almost unavoidable. Over all this is a reliable tire and I am sure I will buy a forth set in the summer.
