Comments about Thule Sidekick Roof Box:
Perfect for what we need it for. With a 14 month old, it gives us plenty of space for 4 duffels +, opening up extra space in back of our Jeep Patriot for baby essentials.
Its tricky for one person to put it together, but with two, its a piece of cake.

Comments about Thule Sidekick Roof Box:
Exceptional quality and design. Get a lot of questions asked about this handsome box. Very happy with the purchase.

Comments about Thule Sidekick Roof Box:
Sidekick by Thule does not fit the Subaru 2012 Outback factory installed cross bars. As previous reviewer noted, you need to drill new holes. I didn't have access to a drill and spent hours trying to get it to fit and damaged my car in the process. Thule need to revisit their fit guide to let people know it does not fit the 2012 Outback as advertised.

Comments about Thule Sidekick Roof Box:
So I purchased this product a couple weeks ago at the Mountain View store. It was already assembled (poorly) and alls I had to do was properly attach it to my car. They store installed (assembled) the locks imporperly and my possessions are now splayed over I-10 and the Inland Empire. Be careful that your is assembled appropriately. Look for metal teeth on the top portion of the box and make certain they point downwards.
Otherwise, this box is small enough to not weigh down my roof and durable enough to survive getting blown open on the freeway and still be usable (once you realize that it was assembled incorrectly). Note that it can only be opened from the passenger side and that the hinges wobble, which makes it difficult to line up the locks (again, a danger of having your possessions baffle highway cleanup crews).

Comments about Thule Sidekick Roof Box:
The Thule Sidekick was the smallest and least expensive Cargo Box I could find, and it's exactly what I wanted and expected. I needed a simple, light weight cargo box for beach trips, and carrying extra luggage during the Fall/Winter Holidays. We have an '09 Subaru Impreza, carrying two adults and an infant, and needed a little extra storage space. This does the trick.
It's large enough to hold strollers, golf clubs, beach chairs, duffle bags, etc (not all at once!). Another benefit of the relatively small size is that it can be mounted towards one side of the vehicle, leaving extra room for a bike rack attachment or canoe attachment.
The ONLY downside so far is that it was a pain to assemble. The directions are clear, but the assembly is tricky at best for one person. I did have to drill two additional holes (one on each side) towards the front of the box for the mounting bolts since the car factory crossbars are spread wide, and not adjustable. This literally took 5 minutes. Totally assembly time was about an hour though.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was fast, and a day before the scheduled delivery date. I used in-store delivery to get free shipping. Product came in perfect shape with no damage or missing parts.
