REI Members get back an estimated 10% on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Fox River Gripper Gloves is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from warm when wet, good grip, good fit I don't usually give 5 stars, but these gloves don't need much improving upon. I mean, for a wool glove these worked as hoped. These are made of mostly wool (with a little nylon for stength)...which I think is ideal. I've tried gloves that had a token amount of wool (apparently for marketing reasons), but they weren't as warm as these. I've tried many other synthetic "technical" gloves with various types of wicking and insulation...but they all were useless as soon as they got wet. I'm not revealing any secret when I say that wool is "warm even when wet", but I am confirming it. My hands tend to get cold faster than others, but these gloves helped me maintain some degree of warmth. To be clear, I wore them during a hike up some terrain with slushy snow. They got wet. Did my hands get cold? Yes...but it was at least tolerable. With synthetic gloves in the same conditions, I would have lost all dexterity very quickly. It's interesting to note that even with the wool wet, I had only to breathe into my cupped hands and the wool seemed to store that shot of warm air for a few minutes. Functionally, the soft rubber gripping added to these gloves is great. As you can see in the photo, rubber-like dots coat the entire palm and underside of fingers. With this coating, I found I could do much more without having to take the gloves off. The fit appears to be true to standard. I usually wear a men's medium (women's large) and these fit as expected. Downside: I noticed that some pairs seemed to itch more than others when I tried them on in the store. However, with the pair I finally selected, the wool seemed to soften up and conform to my hands after they were washed and worn for a while. I'd like to find a pair of Gortex mitt shells to wear over these. I think that would make a good combination. Anyway, even by themselves, these are a good value and very functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I Was Looking For These are great intermediate cold weather gloves with a great grip for driving or working outdoors. Good for temps into the 20's, but not wind proof or waterproof.
