The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about EK Ekcessories Three-Way Eyewear Retainer:
The rubber ends deteriorate after a year. I almost lost my expensive shades.

Comments about EK Ekcessories Three-Way Eyewear Retainer:
I used to leave this on my out-of-the-house glasses from one day to the next. It worked fine at first but the (rubber?) ends didn't seem to stand up well to skin oils, etc. After a few months they swelled up, loosened, and started slipping off my glasses. I switched to a competing brand that says their ends are silicone, haven't had any problems in 6 months, and haven't looked back.

Comments about EK Ekcessories Three-Way Eyewear Retainer:
I had one of these for about a year before one of the rubber end pieces came unglued from the cord at some point, but did not fall apart because it was held together by friction. I don't know how long I was sailing with them in this compromised condition. I'm switching to a strap without separate end pieces to reduce the risk of this kind of silent failure. For those of us with Giant Irish Heads, it would also be nice if the cord were a couple of inches longer, but that seems to be a common problem with all glasses straps.

Comments about EK Ekcessories Three-Way Eyewear Retainer:
I do a lot of kayaking, so a reliable and comfortable eyeglasses retainer is important to me. I've tried, and even made, quite a few over the years and I like this design the best. The 3-way attachments provide several options for finding a comfortable orientation. For security it can be pulled fairly snug without discomfort. Because I only have had it for several months I can't comment on the durability of the rubber attachment ends, but even if they start to give out after one year's use, I'll buy another one as a replacement.
