Comments about Alps Mountaineering Compression Stuff Sack - Large - Special Buy:
I went on a 3-day motorcycle camping trip and this bag held all my clothes, my tent, and something else I can't think of right now. The cinchy-straps are great because whether the bag is full or 1/2 full you can cinch it down snug. There were lots of places to run a bungee cord through to secure it to the bike, too. It seemed like a really good value to me.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Compression Stuff Sack - Large - Special Buy:
I find the Alps Mountaineering Compression Stuff Sack to be a useful item in very specific situations. The large size is quite large and can accommodate large items. It isn't very useful if you are using it on a sleeping bag or other item that already packs down to a fairly small size (most down bags of 600 fill or more). It also seems quite heavy and bulky for its (albeit large) size.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Compression Stuff Sack - Large - Special Buy:
Cheap Alps Plastic. All the plastic parts on EVERY Alps item I own fails when put under stress.
If there was better more rugged plastic parts, this (and most of the Alps items) would be great. HOWEVER, considering a compression sack RELIES on the plastic rings the straps are torqued through it means that this item is basically a stuff sack with NO compressing ability because the plastic breaks if stressed.
-FAIL.
