Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
We bought the Sherpak Go on the recommendation of our local REI store manager when both locks failed on our Yakima Skybox just before a family roadtrip. We have five kids under age 10, but refuse to drive a minivan. Our family car is a Jeep Commander- which gives us enough seats (and seatbelts), but not nearly enough room for luggage. The Sherpak is soft-sided, where the Skybox we had was hard-sided. While it wasn't our first choice for overflow storage (the Yakima was), the Sherpak exceeded expectations and performed well. It was easy to load, secure, and strap down to our Jeep's factory roof rack. The straps and buckles remained securely fastened though the equivalent of three seasons of highway driving conditions, including heavy rain and snow. I didn't feel that our gear was as secure as I did when using the Skybox, since the Sherpak has no integrated locking mechanism, and someone could easily make it through the soft side with a sharp knife. But in reality, the locks on the Skybox would only keep the honest people honest anyway, and if someone really wanted to get in, he or she could. The Sherpak is not as aerodynamic as the Skybox, but I drive a box on wheels, so that probably has minimal impact. The Sherpak is a good value. I recommend it without reservation.

Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
We used the Sherpak! Go 15 to store our luggage driving from Arizona to Arkansas. We have a Mazda 5 (slightly smaller than a minivan), which will seat 6 or have luggage space, but not both comfortably. And when I drive, I prefer to be able to see out the back window. The Sherpak allowed us to put all our clothing on top of the Mazda, which freed the interior for our comfort items and snacks. The trip was so much better with all that extra stuff out of the car. It snowed and rained on us, but everything was fine in the water-tight pouch of the Sherpak.
A few weeks later, my pick-up truck driving sister needed extra luggage space. I lent her my Sherpak. She was really impressed with how much stuff she could pack and keep covered in the back of her truck, and how easy it was to secure -- not to mention how VASTLY superior the Sherpak was to a tarp covering the truck-bed.
My only complaint, and it's a dinky little complaint, is that the website mentioned being able to fold up the Sherpak and store it in the car when not in use. You CAN do this, but in my vehicle, you would not have room for any other storage. This should be evident given the box it comes in, but when the advertisement mentioned folding it up... Anyway, similar to putting the Christmas tree back in the box it came in, the Sherpak only returns to its box with great difficulty, and I don't think most people would keep such a large item in their car "just in case." However, for a long trip -- for laundry, blankets, pillows, and all that stuff people need at their destination but not during the ride -- the Sherpak is a great option to retain seating space AND take the stuff, too! Perhaps Sherpak would consider a soft-sided storage bag when the Sherpak is not in use? But this is a small thing; overall, the Sherpak is a great product!

Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
We have two kids in car seats, two dogs, and a relatively small SUV (a Jeep Patriot). This cargo pouch is a great option for anyone who has a lot of stuff to haul but not a lot of space in their vehicle. We've used it on car camping trips and weekend getaways. I'm 5'2 and able to attach this thing to our vehicle by myself without too much effort. We've driven in the rain and had no leaks at all (even when my husband accidentally installed it upside down). It looks a little silly and the straps have a tendency to flap annoyingly, but you can't beat the price for the extra cargo space it allows.

Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
Drove home to CO over the holidays in my Pontiac Vibe. I had my boyfriend, two dogs, presents, skiing gear and flyfishing gear and this roof top bag didn't let me down. It held almost everything so the dogs had the whole back of the car to stretch out in. It rained for at least 6 hours of the trip and everything stayed dry as a bone. Only downfall for this type of storage is the reduction in fuel economy. I think I lost an average of about 8mpg on this trip.

We went on vacation to the mountains just before Christmas and it rained the whole way there and all of our luggage was safe and dry. This is the best car carrier we have found. It holds alot for the size.My husband modified it alittle and cut a piece of plywood to fit in the bottom to make it more stable on the roof of my SUV.I would highly recommend this car carrier.

Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
Installed on a 2009 Honda Odyssey EX using standard roof rack that came with the vehicle. Did not need crossbars. Purchased the mat companion product which was very useful.
We drove about 400 miles each way from Los Angeles to northern California up and down I-5. Very little noise while driving. The little noise we did hear was from the mat flapping against the car and it sounded like light rain. No damage to the paint and did not really notice having anything on top of the car. We are a family of 5 and loaded the Sherpack with 5 medium to large duffle bags filled with lightweight contents such as clothes, disposable diapers, etc.
Very easy to install and straight forward. Had it installed, loaded up, and ready to go in 20 minutes by myself. Cinches down very securely and tied the excess strap into a knot. I'm a 5'7" male and did not need a step ladder or anything to install or unload. I was able to stand on the rear bumper and the inside area of the sliding doors of the van.
Great well made and designed product. Really glad we got it and was extremely useful. Liked the fact that I could load everything while in our garage and it fit through our garage door opening no problem.

Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
I recently used the Sherpak while relocating from Seattle, WA to Washington, DC. I packed and unpacked it 10 times in 10 days and it held up admirably and was super easy to install. I used the strap extenders because my vehicle a 2009 Jeep Liberty does not have roof rails of any sort. My only two compaints are the plastic buckles on the compression straps are a bit flimsy, I have snapped two of them. The main buckles securing the Sherpak to the car are much beefier and sturdier. The other is the "strap management system" (my term). I used duct tape each day to prevent the slack on the straps from blowing in the wind. These are minor complaints and I highly recommend this item.

Perfect. Gave us the space we needed. 2009 Chevy Traverse. 6 people on the inside, leaves little to no room to pack for a week long vacation. This was the perfect to allow the girls to pack it all. Easy to instal and pack. I recommend 2 people install and pack.

We purchased this before a week long trip to the beach. We had a lot of gear, and this roof bag worked perfectly. It was easy to install and held five duffles, and more. It poured rain on the four hour ride back home. Nothing got wet - nothing. I recommend this bag highly. It's a great bag with a fair price.

Comments about Sherpak Go! 15 Roof Bag:
This was a great purchase. We used it to store all our luggage for a 10 day, 2500 mile roadtrip. This model doesn't require you to buy the 'cross bracing' for the luggage rack on the top of the minivan which would have cost another couple hundred bucks. The Sherpak 15 kept everything dry and in place for our trip and now is stored very easily in the garage as all I had to do was fold it up (versus storing a hard carrier). I'd suggest getting the pad that goes underneath as well...keeps things from slipping and stops the car from getting scratched. Couldn't be happier with the purchase and it was worth researching everyone's previous reviews.
