Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
Use it for ice fishing and snowmobiling. They are warm, comfortable, and stay dry. I would recommend them to everyone

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
After losing a pair of knock-off Sorels to flooding in 2011 I was looking to replace my "pack" boots this winter. This time around I went with the name brand Sorels offered at REI. After 5 days of hunting in cold and snowy conditions I am more than happy with my investment. First and foremost I wanted a boot that would keep my feet warm. The second consideration, a waterproof boot for marshy and snowy conditions. Third, good traction. These Sorels have met or surpassed my expectations in all three categories. I can't wait to break them out again whether it be for a quick walk in the winter landscape or for a full day's hunt. I would recommend these boots highly.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
Received these as a gift. After reading reviews here I did a waterproof test on brand new boots. Failed. In about 6" of water left boot leaked at point where leather meets rubber outsole. I would not trust these in winter conditions in the Sierra Nevada where I would be using them. I will be returning for these for a refund.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
I work out side 8 hours a day through the Wisconsin winters, thats the best product test i can think of. And these boots fail! There is no difference in warmth between them and my non-insulated Danner leather boot. They do stay dry but you can't feel your feet to tell.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
I bought these boots 10 years ago but only wore them twice because they were too bulky to pack for most ski trips (flying). When I drove up to Tahoe, I wanted to use them for snowshoeing. When I laced them up, the leather tabs that hold the laces disintegrated. Sorel IS NOT like REI, [@]. They said the boots were more than a year old and were "out of warranty". My only option was to repair them myself. This is NOT the way I have been treated by REI, [@], etc. My reviews on the Sorel website have not been posted (gee!) I advise buyers to look for another company if they expect any customer service. These are expensive boots and are of poor quality.

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
It is a real shame when there is an outstanding product out there and it suddenly changes. Sorel had almost the perfect winter boot, and changed it. (I guess it was not so perfect for them). I will not buy again, and I will advise anyone close to me not to buy. Maybe, and only maybe, if Sorel returns to original quality of previouis years. My most recent pair look worse after not even one full winter season, than my Sorel Caribou pair from 20 years ago!

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
They started making these in China and they delaminate and let in cold water.
Shame on Sorel for putting their name on the Caribou. I went on a search and rescue for a missing eight year old boy—more than ten below, and the things delaminated.
Shame on you Sorel. SHAME SHAME SHAME!

Comments about Sorel Caribou Boots - Men's:
Sorel's has become another sad story in the book of reputable companies that sold out. I have a pair of Caribou's that I bought in 1995. They are still going strong today. Still waterproof, still warm, and have held up really well. Unfortunately, from what I have read and heard first hand from friends, the newer version of this boot is no where close to the old versions.
When Kaufman went bankrupt and sold the Sorel brand to Columbia in around 2000 that was strike number one. I personally have had very bad experiences with Columbia gear. Their basic clothing is fine, but anything more advanced from boots to so-called waterproof jackets have been a major disappointment. When they moved the production of Sorel's from Canada to China/Vietnam what was strike two and three. My friends that have bought recent versions of the Caribou boot have all kinds of issues. Poor stitching, non sealed seems, cracking rubber, poor warranty service, etc... Now Sorel seems more into building fluffy boots for style instead of solid boots for actual outdoor activities. Until they turn things around, I would NOT recommend these boots or anything else from Sorel except maybe house slippers.
