          my bike was nearly stolen after a thief cut about 90% of the way through the cable in broad daylight! i agree with a previous review that this cable's price suggests it can hang with the other brands, but clearly it does not.

          It was a great lock until a would be thief tried to cut it. They got about 90% through the lock, but our bikes remained. Wonder if they were chased away and they didn't bother to keep cutting? Luckily REI has a great return policy. After this ordeal I'll be getting a more secure U-lock.

            The price of this lock as well as mfg description makes this lock appear worthy and semi solid. Lock was cut like butter and my bike stolen. I think this lock is junk.

              This lock is great for use with two bikes. It is quick and easy to set up, it is a great length to thread through the frames and front tires of two bikes plus extra room to maneuver and lock the bikes to a rack. We love using this with our Yakima hitch rack to lock our mountain bikes to each other and the frame of our SUV.

              The 10 ft version of this cable lock is great for locking bikes onto hitch rack. I use it to lock 2 bikes (thru-frame, wheels, and hitch). When I'm not racking my bikes, it works to keep the rack secure (in that it is only secured by one bolt otherwise).
