The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
This product works well. In anything other than full on wind, the wind screen helps tremendously. It is very lightweight. Some people complain that it isn't Ti...really? It would be three times as much and only a few grams lighter. This wind screen is tops for the price. Very well made

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
Yes, this product adds a little weight (2 ounces) and bulk (though it fits nicely on my MSR pot) to your pack. However, I find it improves fuel efficiency, makes the stove a little more stable, protects from wind, and is a useful little product. With this on my gigapower stove, I think I'm set for a long time.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
Just used this on a breezy, long weekend at the WA coast. It definitely improves stove efficiency, especially in windy and breezy conditions. It seems to improve efficiency even in the absence of wind, because it reflects more heat back up to the pot.
The only drawback was moving the tab to make room for the piezo igniter: it was a little tricky being so small and a little sharp, but I only had to do it once, so no big deal.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
The thing to remember while using the wind screen is to fully open the latch. If it is even partially closed (as in the shipped position) the ignition will not operate.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
I really like the idea of the windscreen and the lightness of the product. My only complaint when I hooked this up to my snow peak gigapower with the piezo the igniter keep striking the windscreen not the gas outlet not sure if I just got a bad one or what but was really hoping this would have word perfect for and item that should have come with the stove anyway

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
Bought this the other night and wanted to test it before I took it out on the trail. I have used the giga power with my own makeshift wind block but was hoping this would be more effective.
There is no doubt that this will keep the flame from blowing around BUT I noticed several characteristics:
1. I tested an indoor boil of 3 cups 60deg water on relatively low flame and WITH the screen it took 9mins, and WITHOUT the screen it took 7.5 mins. I know the flame was low, but I left it that way because the screen got so hot and it's radiant heat was such that I was unable to hold my finder at the base of the stove where it connects to the isopro can. I think it's a cost benefit analysis: I will have to test boil times with wind, but I think i may just stick to a makeshift wind block on the trail... unless I know i'm going to want to boil water on top of a 14er.
2. is a bit of a pain to put on and take off... and it's a bit heavy.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
This comment is based on testing at home not in the field. I used a Snow Peak Trek900 cook-set.
It is a little awkward to get the screen onto the stove. That little window cover for the plain version was difficult to move and the rivet sticks up to scratch your pot when stowed. It is nice of Snow Peak to point out that obvious defect in the instructions. I had to remove it because it distorted the expansion of the screen when heated which nearly tipped my pot over. The design relies on the stove support prongs to hold it down. The center heats unevenly and expands unevenly (in a cone shape) and causes the pot to rise. Which improved after removing the window and rivet and opening up the slots for the support prongs.
The instructions mention that it is dangerous to use (may lose something in the Japanese translation). I found that when the fuel canister is nearing empty it gets too hot to touch both because the radiant heat from the red-hot screen and the time required to boil when the canister is near empty. Too hot to touch is my measure for preventing the fuel canister from becoming dangerously hot (rupture, explosion) and time to shut the stove down. With the wind screen on the stove I do not feel comfortable boiling for more than a few seconds. Do not use it with a pot larger than the screen.
The instructions also say it will discolor with use. I found that to be very correct as well as some heat related corrosion. The direct impingement of the flame on the screen causes high heat and fast corrosion.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
If you own the Giga Power stove, you need this windscreen. Sure, it's a little heavier than I'd like, but at 2 ounces it's still pretty light (in fact, it's lighter than most store-bought windscreens I know). And if you camp in a windy area, you will more than make up for it with the weight of fuel you save! I am always amazed at how much this windscreen increases the efficiency of my stove. It makes the stove pretty much wind-proof, which is more than can be said about most canister stoves.
I don't always carry this windscreen, especially when I am hiking in areas where I know I'll find shelter from the breeze. But I carry it whenever I think it might encounter wind. The convenience more than makes up for the weight and slight bulkiness.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
Easy to pop into place, and even has a removable slot for the Piezo. It doesn't block all wind, but helps to keep a lot of the heat in and much of the wind out.

Comments about Snow Peak Giga Power Windscreen:
Bottom line: You've already got the Snow Peak Giga Power Stove, now get the Windscreen. With the Windscreen, fuel efficiency improvement is significant. Time to boil a pot of water is noticeably reduced, especially in a breeze or wind. The Windscreen slips on and off the four stove wires without a problem. I don't leave home without it.
