Comments about Topeak JoeBlow Sport Floor Pump:

This pump seals easily and completely and doesn't release a ton of air out of my tire if I'm klutzy when putting it on the nozzle. It pumps without requiring superman strength. It doesn't hit the same place on my hands as my bike handlebars, which is usually sore for me. The pump hose pulls over and stashes across the handle, so you can grab the handle to move the pump without the handle rising. It has a place right on the pump to store the attachments (for pumping floats or balls). Love the yellow color. I have had more expensive pumps, and this one works just as well or better than those. My other pumps have not lasted a long time so hopefully this one will have more longevity. The previous pumps I have had that were not very expensive did not have replaceable parts, but the REI salesperson said I can replace the nozzle on this one if it wears out, so hopefully that will be an easy process if it becomes necessary.

Comments about Topeak JoeBlow Sport Floor Pump:

Old pump was just worn out, this pump has a lock on the head to keep it on the valve stem. A lot less pumping that with my old unit. Haven't checked the pressure gauge for accuarcy. Used it to do fill both presta and schrader valved bicycle tires.
          Happy so far.

          Awkward head, hard-to-read gauge

Comments about Topeak JoeBlow Sport Floor Pump:

I have an older Joe Blow pump with a universal head that works much better than this twin-head model. I returned this product promptly.

This pump will not work on car tires because of the head design; there is insufficient clearance to clamp to the tire valve, at least with my wheel covers.

For cycling use, the head does not work as well on Presta valves as the universal head. The low-mounted gauge has small markings that are hard to read without bending over.

For me, a top-mounted gauge and hose works better not just for readability, but because the hose can reach the tires of a bike mounted higher on a wall.

It is nice and inexpensive when compared to some other floor pumps. I have no problems with it. It is well constructed and is solid on the ground. I only need about 100 lbs. of air pressure, so it's not like I put soo much strain on it, but it works for what I need to do.

I am grateful that the heads on my two other floor pumps gave out; I would never have known how easily tires can be filled with a good pump.

This pump has been great for me, worked for many years now; my Presta (to 80-90 psi) and kids' Schraeder. I also use it for pumping large volumes of air, to power water bottle rockets.

Works well with my presta valves. I go up to 120psi and have yet to have an issue. Tried a few others and had problems with the guage. This one seems to be fairly accurate. Great for the price!

Comments about Topeak JoeBlow Sport Floor Pump:

My background: I just graduated from UMass, where I raced bicycles during mountain and road season, and lived with two bike mechanics. This pump is good. We had this pump at the shop, and at our house. I haven't had any serious issues with presta or schrader valves. The pump is solid, has good heft to it, and expels more air per pump than cheaper pumps I've had. There's no such thing as a universally perfect pump, so I think people need to be realistic about it, learn to use the pump they have, and get on the bike. All pumps have parts that go over time, this one seems like it'll out last many other models. It's entirely reliable and at this price point, I'm happy with it.

I had the same leaking problems that others describe. I was holding the pump on the presta valve and pumping with the other hand - it really wasn't a good plan.

Then I vaguely remembered that when I bought it the sales guy mentioned something about locking it on. Sure enough, when I locked it on the valve, the leaking stopped. I could pump with both hands and get to 80psi on my mountain bike precisely.

But until I remembered the locking switch, it was really frustrating.
