The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mountain House Lasagna with Meat Sauce - 2 Servings:
I thought I'd give one of these freeze-dried pre-packaged meals a shot for my last backpacking trip. It turned out much better than expected!
This isn't fresh homemade lasagna, but it tastes pretty good! Nice and flavorful. It was also just the right amount of food after a long day of hiking.
The one downside, as other reviewers have mentioned, is that it will destroy whatever utensil you use to eat this. If I brought this again on a trip, I would honestly bring an extra disposable plastic spoon that I could just throw into the bag after eating.

This is messy but the taste is good, my problem is that MH keeps shrinking the weight and calories of 2 serving size. In 2008 the product weighed 5.8 oz and 620 cal. This year I reordered and the weight is 4.06 oz and 480 cal. even though REI shows a picture of the bag with a 4.8 oz and 600 cal. How many 2 serving size options do they have? At 240 cal. per person this is more of a snack then a meal MH should really advertise this as a single serving.

Comments about Mountain House Lasagna with Meat Sauce - 2 Servings:
I've enjoyed this meal on a couple of backpacking trips, and find the lasagna to be particularly filling. Lots of gooey goodness. I tend to carry come cracked red pepper / parmesan packets and a little squirter of olive oil that I add to the mix (I add that stuff to everything, really)... and it takes it up a notch for sure. As others have mentioned, it sticks to the plastic (I use metal) spoon, but if nibbling yummy cheese of of your spoon on a cold night after a long hike is your worst problem, then you have good problems.

Comments about Mountain House Lasagna with Meat Sauce - 2 Servings:
Bought a package of this to try it out before going backpacking for the first time. My only other frame of reference for this type of food is MRE's in basic training. Definately better than MRE's (though I don't have nearly as much hate for them as some do). It was easy enough to prepare. I also tried out my backpacking stove at the same time and boiled 2 cups of water and added it to the pack. Waited the 9 min it says to on the bag and noticed it was still to hot to eat after that. But no biggee, it was cool enough to eat about five minutes later. Everything was thoroughly cooked inside, no crunchy spots. The flavor was pretty good for freeze dried. It reminded me of cafeteria food. Could have been a little punchier on the spices but I like spicy food as well. Overall I will buy this one again and take it with me though I think I will also take some crackers and crumble them into the lasagna.
The only real con is the price. It's kind of expensive buying a whole weekends worth at a time. And Mountain House is the cheapest of the freeze dried foods I saw in the REI store. I can't imagine the more expensive entrees from Backpacker's Pantry could be any better.

This on is the family favorite! Has good flavor and texture, and actually has melted cheese in it. Plenty of food for us.

I brought this out on a rainy weekend in Yosemite and couldn't have been happier with the taste. Note that I'm a 5'11" 140lb woman and I polished this "2 person" meal off by myself and was ready for dessert. Easy to make, light to carry, and my favorite meal of the trip. Yes, my titanium spork was left a bit cheesy. Very worth it for the flavor and satisfaction it gave me though! So darn tasty...

Tastes great- as good as Stouffer's Lasagna. The 2-serving size is filling enough for one person.
Beware: the cheese will bond to your eating utensil; would not recommend hydrating in a pot or bowl.

I must agree with others who give this product high marks. For dehydrated processed food this is truly excellent. Although I love the fact that there is real cheese consistency, I must take away a star due the ability of the cheese to stick to cooking utensils. I wonder if they can't improve on that. Hmm, makes me wonder what that stuff does inside your body..... Just thought about that one. Oh well, I would rather deal with sticky cheese than eat some tasteless offering from another brand. Just remember, don't give the cheese a chance to "cure" on your utensils or pots or you'll be sorry!

A group of us tried this flavor on an 8 day trip. We had several other Mountain House dinners. We all agreed that this lasagna was just OK - nothing special. It tasted like something cheep out of a can. There are several other flavors I like better than this one.

Taste wise this is a good one, but as others have said the cleanup can be a problem. When I had it in the summer the cheese sauce stuck badly to my lexan fork. This fall I used a long lexan spoon and it cleaned up a little better, perhaps because it was colder. I don't know.
