Solid biner for achor building or for use on slacklines. A little on the heavy side to fill your rack out with. I usually have two of these on me for various uses. Can't beat the price.

Bomber biner, a little on the heavy side but well worth the extra weight. Cheap enough to use as lowering gear, and a very versatile piece. I like using mine for little finicky stuff where I don't rely on a non-locker for life or death but would trust this biner to take falls. Gates are smooth as butter.

I bought a few of these guys for "clip and leave" purposes. They are strong and not to expensive. Plus I have seen some of the gear left by climbers and if I have any choice at all, I will not run my ropes through other peoples gear...too much at stake for me to trust someone elses gear that they left behind. These guys are smooth, round, and wide. Perfect, in my opinion, for a rope to run through. And if for some reason you can't make it up to collect them, they are not too expensive to leave behind. Simple and Great!

Oval 'biners are really great for just about anything. I mainly use them for the tensioning system on my slackline but you can pretty much use them for anything. They also work really well for setting up pulley systems with Petzl's Ultralegere pulleys. Also, they are less expensive than Omega Pacific's oval 'biner but they're not as strong.

These are simple biners great for building anchors for top rope/ Lead/ or rapping.
I have also had other uses for them; racking, belay stations, etc....
They're NOT FOR CHALK BAGS or HANGING YOUR SHOES.

They were designed without lockers for a reason. To dock them a star cus they dont lock is like docking a star on a d-shape biner for not being oval or a static rope for not stretching, etc, etc.
BTW, they are oval so as to ensure a load is properly set along the spine and they is no shift in weight which can happen when creating anchors with D-shape biners.

I've used and trusted these for years. However, the almost identical Omega oval is slightly stronger and currently only 5cents more so I'd choose it over the BD. Ovals have the additional useful feature in that you can put four of them together and make yourself a "biner-brake" in the occasion you loose your rap device up on the wall. My buddies tease me for using such archiac 'biners, chiding me to replace my ovals with stonger and lighter weight designs. Slowly I'm doing this but I'll continue to carry at least 4 on my rack.

I have a few of these as a part of my climbing gear. They serve well to hold accessories (shoes, chalk bags, etc.), but since they are not locking, there abilities are limited. Better bet is to use screwgate carabiners, which are a bit more expensive, but much more versitle
