Comments about Sierra Designs Herald 30 Pack - 2012 Closeout:

Great pack for overnights or lightweight backpacking. I am 6'1 with a 53cm torso, 33" waist and the M/L fit great. In main compartment I was able to fit: 2 person tent, Solo Stove/Pot cook system, Therm-a-rest prolite sleep pad reg., Therm-a-rest medium compressible pillow, summer sleeping bag in 10L compression sack, storm poncho, emergency flashlight/radio and enough food for two days. Smaller front pocket fit my first aid kit (1-2 people/2-4 days), survival knife, Sawvivor saw and 4 or 5 small misc. items. Stuff it pocket fit my rain jacket even with pack fully loaded. Side stretch pockets will fit 1L bottles (but it's a tight squeeze). Not bad for a 30L pack! Compression straps on side of pack could accommodate tent or sleep pad allowing more room for food and layers if you want to make it a multi. Amazingly versatile pack that carries weight like it's nobody's business. At the closeout price you just can't beat it.

        Service and delivery comments:

Comments about Sierra Designs Herald 30 Pack - 2012 Closeout:

Got this on sale. I have never used a Sierra Design pack. Was expecting average features. I was pleasently suprised by the fit, function and comfort. After using the pack for about a dozen hikes I can say that it is very comfortable and well built. The design also offers great airflow. Only thing is the main compartment is oddly shaped, it's long and flat. Great product all around!

Comments about Sierra Designs Herald 30 Pack - 2012 Closeout:

I wanted to give a review because I could not find any before I bought this pack.
I bought the Hearld 30 for a day and overnight hiking. I was skeptical about the pack at first. I had never bought a Sirra Designs product before. I have gone on 8-9 hikes with it so far and 1 overnight hike with it. I have been impressed so far. Everthing seems to be holding up. The shoulder and hip pading takes a bit to break in. The lower back has very good ventalation. Fit and finish is 4/5. Only thing to know is that the main compartment is oddly shaped. All and all very solid and fantastic for the price. Still waiting on the longterm to see if it holds up. Hope this helps!
