REI Store Pickup

Have your order shipped to an REI store and get FREE SHIPPING. Some restrictions apply.

• Shipping is free--even for oversize items.
• We offer limited tracking of REI Store Pickup orders.
• Be aware that it can take up to three weeks for the order to arrive at the REI store of your choice.

You can place your store pickup order

• Online: Select "Ship to an REI Store" in step 2 of checkout.
• By phone: Call 1-800-426-4840.
• At a retail location: Contact an REI Store.
• You may pay with your Visa ® , MasterCard ® , American Express ® Discover ® , JCB ® , REI gift card, REI dividend, merchandise credit or refund voucher.
• If you wish to pay by cash or check, you will need to place your REI Store Pickup order at one of our retail stores. Cash and check orders must be prepaid.

REI Store Pickup orders are shipped from our Distribution Centers to the store of your choice and may take longer than other shipping options. To see the estimated arrival date of an REI Store Pickup order placed today, see the Shipping Timeline at the top of this page . Just select the store where you intend to pick up your order from the drop-down menu beneath "REI Store Pickup."

You will be given an estimated arrival date when you place your order. The store will send you an e-mail when the order is available for pickup. Go to the Customer Service counter at the REI store to pick up your order.

• REI Store Pickup orders are not shipped by traditional, direct-to-consumer carriers such as UPS, Fed Ex or United States Postal Service.
• REI gift cards do not need to be pre-ordered. They are immediately available at any REI store. Gift cards are not eligible for REI Store Pickup.
• Electronic gift cards are e-mailed directly to the recipient.

Shipping Estimates: Exceptions

Estimated Arrival Dates Do Not Apply to:

• Deliveries to Alaska, Hawaii, PO boxes and rural areas
• Deliveries made to U.S. territories, APO, FPO and international addresses
• Items that must be sent by ground-shipping only: hazardous, flammable and oversize items as noted in the product information
• Items shipped common carrier freight, including boats and car-top boxes
• Bikes
• Items that are out-of-stock at the time of ordering

Please note: When standard shipping is selected, REI determines the most efficient shipping carrier for your order. The carriers that may be used are: U.S. Postal Service (USPS), UPS or FedEx Shipping charges may be subject to sales tax depending on the tax laws of the state the order is being shipped to.

** Marin & Electra bikes are shipped to REI stores only; they cannot be shipped to your home or other address.

Oversized & Hazardous Items

Oversized items

Shipping bikes, canoes, rooftop boxes and other oversized or heavy items costs extra. Be sure to read the special shipping information that appears on the product page, or on the purchase agreement page which you'll see when you place the item in your shopping basket. Oversized charges are not added on REI Store Pickup orders.

Note:

• Most oversized items are not eligible for gift boxing. If an item can't be gift boxed we'll let you know on the product page.
• Some items with irregular shapes may be sent in gift bags rather than gift boxes.

Hazardous Items

Because flammable items must be sent via surface shipping, they may be shipped separately from the rest of your order.

Sales Tax

• REI is a national retailer with physical retail stores nationwide. REI is required to charge all applicable state and local sales tax on orders shipped to states where we have a physical presence, which includes distribution centers, operating stores and/or new stores under construction. Some taxing authorities also require the taxable amount to include any shipping and handling charges, while others charge sales tax only on merchandise. We are required to follow the rules of each state.
• Gift Cards -No sales tax is charged when buying gift cards. The appropriate sales tax will be charged on the purchase when the gift card is used.
