Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
I looked at some of the review and saw that quite a few people didn't like the mounting bracket. I thought the mounting bracket was weak as well but I ordered the commuter bracket from [@]cateye[@] website and I couldn't be happier. The H-33 bracket was $5.00 but it was worth since I didn't have to buy a new light. I don't know why they don't sell the commuter bracket in the store or change the mounting bracket to use the commuter one instead.I do like that the light has a flashing option and I use the flashing option whenever I ride to increase my visibility for cars on the road.

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
This light is not worth the [$]. The supplied mounting system works great for awhile, but eventually the strap lock weakens and then it no longer stays put on the bar. I actually broke the tab that locks the strap down on your handle bar. After this, I bought the H-33 commuter bracket from cateye. This worked for a half a day until the light fell out of the slot and smashed against the ground. The light itself is great, but both methods of attachment don't work which renders the light useless for commuting. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
The light is very bright and easy for others to see; however, it does not do so good for lighting up the road in front of you.
It is very small and light weight (which I like).
As others have said the mount is very poor. It works fine at first. I thought it would be nice because it was easy to take on and off; but if you do that too often the little lever in the back will break, which makes it harder to remove.
After one of mine broke I bought a new one and that one broke as well (it still works but it looks bad and is hard to remove).
Also, if you don't put it on tight enough it will slip while your riding and may even fall off the handle bars.
The swivel is pretty cool though. You can turn the light left and right while your riding (although doing so may loosen the mount).

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
I had read a few negative remarks about the mounting strap, but so far, no problems. It's a nice, clean design. The beam provides plenty of light.
I would buy this product again, or similar by the same manufacturer.

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
This light is good if you want other people to see you (it has a nice flashing mode). However it is way too weak to light up the road at night. The worst part of this light is its mounting system. It attaches to your handlebars using an adjustable rubber band. The light then extends forwards so that its center of gravity is far in front of the mounting point. This leads to problems when you hit a bump as the light tends to knock itself to a downward angle. This is a major annoyance to have to fix every ride.

It is the only flash/bike light I take bike touring.

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
I use this light for commuting at night, and it works quite well for that purpose. When I installed this light and set it to flashing mode, I noticed an immediate difference in the way drivers reacted to me compared to the cheapo incandescent light it replaced. I even got a sarcastic "Hey, your light's burned out!" from one motorist presumably commenting on its brightness.
Since I commute on fairly well lit streets I don't need something bright enough to illuminate the road in front of me. If that's what you need this light probably isn't for you, but for getting driver's attention it is very good.
I haven't experienced the problem of it falling forward like some others have described on my ~4 mile commute, at least after I read the instructions and figured out how to mount it properly. I agree that it is kind of annoying to mount and remove, though.

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
Well, it looks nice, but wasn't engineered properly. It's front heavy and the strapping isn't designed for permanence. So, the lighted end tends to fall forward after a mile or so. For something that needs to be removed easily and quickly, I wouldn't buy this one. One must remove the entire assembly, which will weaken the strapping "system" over time and make it all but obsolete, unless you dig duck tape. In short, it's poorly engineered. Someone is making a profit on a poor safety product. Don't buy this one.

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
I've used this light as my only handle bar mounted light for years and as a small reliable light when camping. I then remembered it's waterproof for up to 50 meters (over 100 feet!) I mounted it on the arm of my external flash as a direction adjustable (up, down, left & right) light so I can shoot video underwater, at night, with a constant supply of light. It's not strong enough for great distance shots, but it's small, reliable and easy to turn on or off even with thick dive gloves on! Being and LED it won't burn out either which any diver can appreciate when their primary light dies. Even without a camera, it's so small it can go in a Buoyancy Control Device pocket without a problem. I even used it strapped on my dive gloved finger for a while too. It's been awesome having it for riding at night as well as diving at night. Get One!

Comments about Cat Eye HL-EL410 Front Bike Light:
When I bought this light I had no experience with night riding. Now that I have had a lot of night riding, I feel I can add commentary as a public service, regarding this specific model. I purchased this light because it seemed versatile compared to other lights, and it was in my budget. I'm actually really surprized at how bright this little light is, for an LED. I primarily use this as a safety flashing light, as most of my night riding is done where there are street lights. Motor vehicle drivers do notice me very well if they are paying attention. Can't do anything for the people looking the opposite direction when turning into you. I recommend a horn or whistle for that situation. I wish the mount was better. It's not easy to mount it on tight enough so that it doesn't allow the light so slip and rotate on the handle bar. It's possible, but time consuming and difficult. A better designed mounting system similar to the Novara Wedge seat bag would be ideal. It has a strong screw-in mount base, but you can rotate the bag right off and on, in a couple seconds. Something like that would keep the light at the angle you want in all terrain conditions, but you can take it off and put it on quickly. Very important if you don't want your stuff getting ripped off.
