This is a good pack if your only using it for your cycling trips. I love it while I'm mountain biking, but for my commuting needs it is a little small. Especially when you have the H2O bladder filled. I think the cargo capacity is maxed out around 500 cubic inches. So you can forget about storing a different change of clothes and extra pair of shoes for when you commute. On the contrary when I go mountain biking the pack is great! It holds all of my gear and performs perfectly. If you are going to use it to commute I would recommend the HAWG instead. Feel free to give this product a try, but if you are commuting purchase the HAWG instead. You will appreciate the extra 300 cubic inches of cargo capacity.

This makes a great day pack. Just enough room for an iPod, rainshell, map, compass, and of course 100oz. of water. Water bladder is very accessible. Very stable and comfortable suspension.

This product has a very nicely designed suspension and compression system but these features incorporate a rather heavy rubber for some of the facets. Other textiles could be lighter weight too, especially for the MSRP of the pack.

Over all it's a good value, especially on sale like it was this week.

this bag carries everything i need to go biking... my small pump extra tubes, tools keys light just evverything i need for the trails also carries a good amount of water and keep water cold for a good few hours too

This is my 1st hydration unit and thanks to the other positive reviews here, I decided to give it a whirl. I love it. I'm a big guy (6'3", 235lbs) so the weight doesn't affect me, but it's not really that heavy even when filled to capacity. Highly recommended!

This camelbak is one of larger ones available, so if you don't need that much water or storage room, you might want to go with a smaller 70 or 50 ounce model. It's a bit heavy, but it's saved me from dehydration a number of hot summer days, where I actually finished all 100 ounces. Super tough (esp when full), it's almost like padded armor for your back when mountain biking. Definitely made some crashes a bit more "plush" that could have been alot worse. Just make sure you rinse out the bladder after each ride and hang it to dry.

Purchased the most recent version of the Mule to replace my 1st generation Mule which is beat (but I still have & use!). The new design is much more comfortable with ergo straps and back padding for comfort and airflow. Great for mountain biking, light hiking, snowshoeing.

Only complaint is that the pack gets a bit bulky and misshapen when filled to capacity.

People say, "But I don't need a 100oz reservoir..." you don't need to fill it all the way to the top!!! A 100oz bladder w/ 50oz of water in it is much more comfortable on you back than a 50oz bladder w/ 50oz in it.

Buy it... you'll like it.

We did a 6.5 mile hike with this pack up 3500 foot elevation and it was nice and snug. We jogged most of the way back down (13 miles total round-trip, 5 1/2 hours) and it fit great. Nice and snug. It was almost enough water for me and my girlfriend, but it was a bit hot and dusty so I'd suggest one per person for anything that is longer than 4 hours like this. I wish the pockets were a bit larger though.

I use this Camelbak primarily for trail running because it is small enough for the essentials (water, granola bars, map, digital camera). I really love the MP3 pocket on the top and the reflective markings on the shoulder strap and the back of the pack. It also has a nice little strap on the back where you can hook a rear light when running at night. Personally, the M.U.L.E is a little too small (capacity-wise) for me for mountain biking because I like to carry more gear for the 3+ hour rides that I like to do. For mountain biking, I recommend (and use) the Camelbak H.A.W.G (I own 2 of them over the years).

It worked great for Half Dome. Big resevoir is a nice option - can be filled as much as needed.

More room (better clip/mesh) for a jacket/windbreaker would be helpful. Main pocket is a little tight for extra clothing.
