Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I was most impressed with the waterproofing. Hiking for three days in rain and mud and my feet were dry and comfy. Not incredibly warm on their own, but paired with some wool socks added comfort. I usually wear a 9.5-10 but am a 9 in these boots

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I have been wearing the Lowa Renegade boot since 2000. I have tried others, and always go right back to this one. Every pair of Renegades has lasted for 700-1000 miles. They are out of the box and ready to go. I have never had to allot time to break in a pair.
They are worth every penny you pay for them!

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
Comfort was great and required no break-in. I had to have all seams re-stitched over a period of two years and finally the leather parted from the soles letting water and dirt into my foot. All hiking I do is on trails during summer months so this shouldn't have happened. I am an averaged wt person. Occassionaly I cary a 30 pound backpack so no undue strain was put on the boots.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I have worn these boots for 7 years on all my trail hikes (and even some trail runs). I have replaced the insoles a few times, but these boots have held up great for hundreds and hundreds of miles. They are extremely stable and comfortable - in fact, they are the only boot I have been able to run in. They are designed very well for wet weather and I have never had an issue with wetness, despite hiking in rainy Oregon!

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I use these boots for day hikes and week-long backpacking treks in Hawaii and the Rockies. I am on my second pair, and neither required a break-in period. No blisters, no pressure points, no discomfort in any way related to the boot. They have stayed dry in torrential rain and even being half submerged in creeks and puddles. I have a wide foot and use a custom orthotic and there is no toe cramming. LOVE them! I would buy them again and again and again.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
These boots were very comfortable, with no break-in period required. They probably would have been good to use for day-hiking only, though. I wore them backpacking only three weekends (76 miles) and the rubber toe was already cracking and pulling away from the leather.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
Thus far these are amazing boots. I have had trouble with other boots being too narrow in the toe box or not providing enough cushion or support. No such problems with the Lowa Renegades, my toes have plenty of space and lots of cushion and support for my feet and ankles. I wore these boots on a 12 mile steep climb where I was worried about blistering because I hadn't "broken" them in yet. I am now confident in hiking Mt. Whitney this summer knowing I have these boots.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I loved these boots from the moment I put them on. They required no break-in and never gave me blisters. I treated them with water proofing and never had a leak despite a lot of work in wet conditions and in snow. They were great for desert hiking and high mountains. However, after just three years, the seams in the toe area have ripped apart on both boots. The black rubber toe has also separated from the uppers. This is a great boot for more casual use, but it is not durable enough for long, hard wear.

I use the boots for hiking in the mountains, I have a narrow foot and usually wear a 7 or 7.5 but in these boots i purchased a 6.5.

Comments about Lowa Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boots - Women's:
I own 2 pairs of Lowa Renegades. I have worn one pair for long distance hikes on the Appalachian Trail. I love them. They feel great. I purchased the 2nd pair for the future day that the originals need replacing. I also own the Lowa Banff - it is a nice shoe and fits well but it is a pound heavier than the Renegade so I would recommend the Renegade over the Banff.
