Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

Being a side sleeper, I've spent 15 bruised-hip, numb arm years in the back country. But not any more! I love this pad. It reduces to a perfectly packable size and is light weight. I'm amazed even kneeling in the middle of the pad with all my weight my knees don't meet the ground. The pad is great at firmness adjustment. Just inflate it fully and use the valve to let out even the smallest amount of air to your liking. It's hard to believe something so comfortable works so well with light backpacking. I use this pad over a futon or couch when staying with friends. This pad goes every where I travel. A side sleeper's must!

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

I have been using a Therm-a-rest but picked the insulated air core on sale. I like it much better than my therm-a-rest. It's lighter, rolls up smaller and more comfortable. However, it does feel more narrow, maybe because you sleep more elevated? It is a bit colder sleeping too. I am sticking with the Air Core!

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

I have never liked so much camping since I've never slept well... For the first time I've had 2 consecutive good nights sleep on this pad, in any position and without feeling the ground. I'm about to order another one for my husband who didn't sleep as well...

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

We love these mats and have used them for a couple years but we recently went camping and ended up snow camping and it was distinctly cold coming up from the mat. So don't believe the 15 degree rating. A blue mat under it would have made all the difference.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

My initial purchase had a leak so I can't really say much about its durability. Perhaps it was an isolated defect. Nonetheless, after getting a replacement, I have to say it's an incredibly comfy pad. Takes a little time to blow up but a small sacrifice for the extra comfort. My biggest problem with it is its slip factor. I kept sliding off my pad and onto my tent-mate when we had to pitch our tent on an uneven ledge. Other than that, it's a nice pad.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

After owning several different sleeping pads and mats over the years, I've found this Big Agnes pad to be the most comfortable by far. I do most of my hiking in the desert where the ground is really hard. I sleep like a baby on this pad and can sleep comfortably in any position.
The pad also rolls up really small, shorter than a Nalgene bottle and a little fatter. Takes up very little room in my pack.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

This is my first sleeping pad, which I decided on because it was full-size, lighter and more compact than any other options, and just as affordable. Each time I use it, for about two minutes, I regret the decision because blowing it up is such a pain. Then I get to sleeping and I forgive it and love it again. It keeps you higher off the ground than other sleeping pads, which is great for women & side sleepers. Also deflating is time-consuming, but worthwhile on long trips where space and weight are an issue.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

Almost perfect pad. Packs smaller and lighter than most pads and inflates much thicker than traditional pads. Very comfortable, you might need a additional foam pad if camping on snow. Would be better if it was possible to connect two pads together for couples.

Comments about Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Pad - Regular:

you should demo this pad at the store. i *loved* how light it was, and how it packed down to almost nothing. but, i had two reservations:

      1. it takes a lot of work to inflate - not so much fun after a hard day of slogging.

      2. if you sleep on your tummy, the ridges feel a bit awkward/uncomfortable on your face.

      try before you buy...
